The main clientele for this hotel is package tour groups arriving by bus. It works as a place to spend a couple days as a base for exploring the area but you have to keep in mind that it’s really set-up for the bus tourists. The room was clean and I wasn’t bothered road noise even though I was on the even numbered since. The room was on the small size but was adequate with sufficient outlets and plenty of hot water. The odd numbered rooms on the second floor have balconies and that side of the building has the best views. The tour groups seem to take breakfast early, so you’re more likely to miss crowds by coming after the 7:00 rush. The selection was broad, but nothing was memorable. They do a buffet for dinner in the evening, but I did not try that. The location is walking distance to the Main Street of the town. There were two sit down restaurants open when I was there and they were open on Sunday when the shops were closed. The bus terminal is next to the supermarket on the road to Alesund and you can do Briksdalsbreen by bus, if you’re tired of driving narrow roads.

The location of the hotel is quite convenient, as it is opposite to Extra supermarket (exactly at the other side of the fjord), there are gas stations and other stores within a walking distance as well. Of course it means that you can hear the traffic all night, so for those who need peace and quiet - ear plugs are recommended. There is no elevator in the hotel, so whether you have a room on -1 or +1 level, it means carrying your luggage down or up the stairs. When we were leaving, the staff opened some extra door for the people on - 1 so that they didn't need to carry the suitcases up the stairs, but the ones on +1 still had to do it. The rooms are clean, and of decent size, however there is no kettle or hair dryer - plus in the bathroom there is no socket to use, even if you happen to have your own. In general sockets in the room are located in inconvenient places, while above the bedside tables there are only USB sockets. The buffet breakfast in served in the restaurant on level 0 - it can be a little crowded if there are many groups staying there and leaving at the same time.

Rooms are very clean. Good location for shops and visiting the town. Can be very noisy at night as it is located beside a road.Cars can be heard driving up and down playing loud music. Breakfast was included in the room, asked for cappuccino as didn't eat the breakfast and girl at reception wanted to charge, she was very unfriendly and not very accommodating. Had buffet dinner and would not recommend.
