The Golden Tulip is a spectacular and beautiful hotel located about a twenty minute drive from Nizwa itself. Built around a large courtyard with a 20 metre swimming pool. Our room, 114, like most others had a ground floor balcony with a couple of chairs and a table from where you could walk straight out to the swimming pool area with many sun lounges. The hotel itself is beautiful with a very attractive reception area and the bedrooms are enormous. Equipped with a large double bed a desk for working, tea and coffee facilities, a fridge, wardrobe hanging space, an ironing board and hair dryer, and even a bathroom with a shower and a bath. However, there was never enough hot water to fill the bath or sometimes even for a shower! We paid £130 a night and stayed three nights. This was for bedroom only. Breakfasts were about £12 per person. One night we ate outside by the pool with a lovely BBQ. The cost for two of us including a carafe of wine came to £66. We found the staff welcoming and helpful, although we felt the room cleaning was a little perfunctory (bed was made up, bin was emptied but the pillows were not put back onto the bed!). Nevertheless, a gorgeous luxury hotel.

“Nizwa Oman trails”

Perfect place and family. Head Firasat is too good. Surprised by Birthday cake. Too good and too lovely. Will plan again.

Stayed here for two nights on our tour of Oman. Imposing reception area with rooms set in large courtyards. Our room was large and very comfortable and the WiFi was excellent. “Met our needs”

This hotel simply did not compare to the others we enjoyed in Oman. The rooms feel dated and tired. There were no sunshades beside the pool and no poolside service. This hotel simply did not compare to the others we enjoyed in Oman. The rooms feel dated and tired. There were no sunshades beside the pool and no poolside service. As occupancy was down meals were only served in the soulless restaurant or snacks in the bar. The food was unimaginative. Service was fine but not impressive. We enjoyed exploring the area with our guide and the hotel served our needs - our stay was disappointing overall.
