A friend and I chose this hotel for it's proximity to the bus terminal - easy walking distance, even while dragging huge suitcases. At first we were nervous because some local friends were telling us that the area around the bus terminal is a bit sketchy and unsafe at night -but this hotel was somewhat of a rose among thorns. We felt safe inside, the property is beautiful, and the hotel provides a buffet dinner (extra cost) so we didn't have to venture out after dark. I thought the rooms and bathroom were great - comfortable bed, heated shower - and the hotel offers 24 hour coffee/tea and cookies in the dining room. My only qualm is about the food - the dinner was nothing spectacular especially for the price, and the breakfast was not yet set out when we went down to eat. We had to catch an early bus so we went downstairs right at 6:00AM for the breakfast but only bananas and fruits were set out - no cooked or hot foods / bread / buns etc. There was bustling in the kitchen though - so I assume they were cooking more, but by the time we left for the terminal at 6:30 nothing more had been set out. I would've liked to eat a bit more than just cookies and a banana before our long bus ride, but some food is better than nothing. There is wifi available but from our room the signal seemed very weak and kept cutting in and out. The staff was very friendly and helpful and some spoke very good English. Overall my experience was quite good - I just wish we had gotten more of a breakfast to get my moneys worth.

We booked this hotel because it had good reviews, but didn’t realize the TA reviews were all a couple of years or more old. We were arriving late by bus from the Chaco, and flying out early next morning from the airport, so somewhere clean and safe near the bus terminal to lay our heads would fit the bill. The hotel clearly needs an update: faded decor throughout and the bedroom/shower room were “sad”, flimsy bedroom door and lock. Not sure a single female traveller would feel that comfortable. The aircon wasn’t strong enough. The staff were helpful though no English spoken. We left before breakfast so can’t comment on that. Much as it goes against the grain, if you’re just looking for somewhere to sleep while traveling, would definitely recommend getting a taxi from the bus station to one of the chain hotels which we now realize are cheaper in Asuncion terms and better value for money.

The bad highlight of the hotel was the room. Not bad per-se, but not very good either, by comparison to other small hotels I've been to. The bed was very good though, but the bathroom was cold as hell, because there was a window very high almost near the ceiling that was open and I traveled there in winter. The food however was very good, always in a buffet fashion, where you serve yourself what you want. They always had good offer of meats and vegetables. Fruits and desserts were good too. The hotel also offers a free wifi, which is always important for me to keep in touch with family and friends while on trip. I also was able to keep some cash in the front desk's safe box, and I had no trouble with this. The location of the hotel is not the most convenient, because it's a bit far from downtown Asuncion, but it is however very near the central bus station of the city, which is nice. There was also a good variety of stores and small shopping centers at a walking distance from the hotel, and it's near two large avenues. Overall, the hotel is not bad if you're on a budget, and the staff is very friendly.
