I dont know, how people can give a bad review for this hotel. I think, if you behave like badly, you just get what you give. ;) For us it was perfect. The staff gave us whatever we wanted. Day and night. The suite was perfectly clean with all the luxury you can dream of. 58" television, whirlpool tub, a bed so big, 5 people would have enough space in that. We asked for seafood... this is not so easy in Paraguay. They brought a perfect paella from another restaurant. This took only 30 minutesf an it was so much, we couldnt eat it all and believe me, we tried. For breakfast you get everything you want and they do it always with a big smile. If you are looking for a really good hotel, stay at Carnaval.

This is a modern hotel. It doesn't have too much personality in that it could be anywhere, but nonetheless it was a very good hotel. The front desk were good using Google Translate to help my faltering Spanish. I had some Laundry done and it was very quick.and good price. The restaurant served excellent bar snacks, including one of the tastiest steaks I'd had for a long time. Breakfast was very good...lots of fresh fruit and perfectly scrambled eggs. Rooms are a good size, although the beds were a bit too soft for me. Only downside was noisy paraguayan children at 2am!

Those of us who have stayed in casino hotels before know that their patrons wear them out brutally, and even luxury properties can tend to get worse-for-wear very quickly. So I was impressed to find that the accommodations at Carnaval were clean, well-maintained, and with everything functional. The casino itself is down the street from the hotel, a one-block walk in what I found to be a safe neighborhood even after dark. Breakfast was free and had an acceptable selection, although the scrambled eggs were quite watery. I chose this property mostly because it seemed like an easy drive to and from the Jesuit ruins (which it was, about 45 minutes each way). I imagine the hotels along the Costanera provide prettier views, though. My only real negative from my time here was a strange exchange I had with the front desk clerk at check-in, which I hope was simply a "lost in translation" moment due to my fairly basic Spanish. Upon seeing that I had reserved the room for myself, the clerk asked if I had not meant to reserve it for two and when I insisted that I did not, he pointed to a part of the check-in form meant for a second person and asked if I was planning on "encontrar una chica" which I took to mean that he thought I was going to bring a sex worker back to the room. I made a horrified face and insisted that I was absolutely not going to have any visitors, at which point I saw the doorman smile with apparent relief. I am not sure if they have had a problem with other guests doing this or if I just misunderstood the implication, but it certainly spoiled the arrival process.

“Nice surprise, good quality, good price ”

It was a nice discovery in Encarnacion, nice size of the room, nice furniture, clean and good bathroom, nice lobby, the breakfast was very good variety, quality and quantity. Good price. I would recommend it.
