The hotel is going through a major overhaul of its facilities. You can't book online, only way to make a reservation is reachimg them by phone. They were open and clear in telling me that several areas were not available and that noise could be expected. They were kind and correct during the booking process. And the rate they are offering in the meantime for the available rooms is unbeatable in this world!!! I stayed in a large room "bungalow" with my family (4 beds). There was enough space for everyone and we had a nice view of the city. We tried the laundry service and it worked perfect, service within the day. The 4 of us connected to the room's wifi (each room has its own router) and it went well, it was fast. Breakfast room is a tempory adapted room and that is the only moment when you had to make undertand that they are temporarily disrupted as the kitchen room is temp as well. Most remarkably: Virtually zero noise from the construction works, we could sleep until late every day. The noise comes from the city, but then there's something you can't help. I would love to return to this place once works are completed (I expect towards end 2016); certainly by far it will cement its position as best hotel in town and possibly the south of Peru (Tacna-Moquegua).

“Quiet place to stay in Moquegua”

We spent three nights at the Hotel El Mirador in September. It sits up on an overlook of the city of Moquegua. It is clean and comfortable for a two star Hotel. It is probably one of the nicest places to stay here. We were here in a cooler time of year so it might be hot in the summer months. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in one of the cabanas which is a room in an outbuilding. It has a lovely private deck area. There is a nice swimming pool. The only meals we ate here were breakfast. They were adequate. Our group requested hot chocolate which they did not have but the next day they had some just for us. It was really good hot chocolate.

We stayed 1 night at Hotel El Mirador on our way through to Arequipa. The staff were nice but the room was average. The room was large but so full of furniture we could barely move. We stayed 1 night at Hotel El Mirador on our way through to Arequipa. The staff were nice but the room was average. The room was large but so full of furniture we could barely move. It had a double bed which seemed quite small and 2 single beds, a couch, desk etc etc. To get hot water in the shower you had to leave the water running for 15 minutes. Our sliding glass door did not close all the way, although it appeared to be locked. I would describe the cleanliness of the room to be average. The Wi-Fi in the room did not work and we had to get a special code and connection from the reception which meant it did not work that well in the room. We had dinner in the restaurant that night - the food was not bad all things considering. The pisco sour was very good. Overall, it was fine for the night for what it was. Probably the best thing in town.
