PROS Newly built hotel, clean-looking (rooms and facilities), picturesque fascade Super friendly and helpful staff Rooms are cleaned/made-up every day. Towels are replaced daily. Water dispensers are available on every floor. Pitcher for water are available for every room. CONS Very limited to no signal (for call and text) for Philippine mobile carriers No signal (for mobile data) for Philippine mobile carriers Breakfast is not consistent (quality degrades/diminishes from day to day). No espresso machine Not all Cable TV channels are available all throughout our stay. Foreign channels (HBO, FOX, etc) were available on our first day but were no longer available the next day onwards. Internet connection over wifi is not good, almost unusable at times. Daily need to go the the lobby to ask for voucher to access internet.

Most modern hotel in Batanes! Check in is a breeze w/courteous staffs. Big rooms with huge beds and complete with hotel amenities, large pool, tv, wifi but needs speed upgrades, in room vault, 2 mins walk to the ocean, good resto with friendly staff like Michelle, makes your stay more enjoyable, looking for a stay in Batanes with a modern twist? They're still on soft opening so I'll be nice. Nice hotel, quiet surroundings, spacious rooms, friendly staff, complete bathroom amenities. Food at their restaurant took quite a while to be served - I hope this improves over time. No one helped us with our bags or led us to our room - we were just given directions on where to go. Majority of the cable channels weren't accessible - probably just 2 out of 10. We had more working channels at another much lesser-priced hotel. I would stay again another time, though. Just to see if they improved. :)

We booked a complete Batanes vacation package through the Residencia du Basco website. The airport pickup was on time and comfortable with a polite, skilled driver, who was also with us for our tours of the island. We arrived hours before check in, and our room was already available for early check-in. The room was comfortable, with bathroom amenities, an in-room safe, refrigerator, and cable TV, though cable channels were not available until late on our first day. There is also strong free Wi-Fi, which is vital since there is absolutely no cell phone service at the hotel for either of the country's two main providers. There is a swimming pool at the hotel, and the beach is about a minute walk from the property. They also have a restaurant where they served plated breakfasts. While the staff was warm and efficient, the food was nothing impressive. The restaurant staff also departs by 2PM, so you will need to make dinner plans elsewhere. Fortunately, the location of the hotel is great, and there are very good dining options at neighboring hotels. There's also a small convenience (sari-sari) store within a 3 minute walk from the hotel where you can pick up small items like snacks and sodas. The staff is uniformly friendly and efficient, but there seems to very few of them on the property after 2PM - just 1 or 2. On the whole, it's pretty good for what it is if you temper your expectations.
