Flexible. Impressive. Outstanding. Extraordinary. Excellent service. 5-Star. Exceeded our expectations. Unforgettable. Consistently genuine. Sophisticated. Tatler's Best no wonder. My family celebrated my dad's 65th birthday here. Our hotel experience, from start to finish, just kept getting better and better – from warm hospitality portrayed by every staff we encountered – at the Front Desk / Concierge and around the facilities (lounge, cafe, restaurant, pool, gym), seamless check-in and check-out, to excellent food quality at High Street Lounge, Horizon Club Lounge at the 40th Floor, Canton Road (Michelin-selected), and High Street Cafe for their breakfast buffet. Literally, all the staff were well-mannered and professional, approachable and helpful, even public room attendants were kind. What ultimately impressed us was Shangri-La's flexibility in everything. - Unlike hotels that have book-and-pay arrangements, their booking policy with "Book Now, Pay Later" agreement was favorable for us. - They allowed us to check in as early as 10:30 am. We don't get that all the time! - My child didn't like truffle fries, but High Street Lounge was flexible enough to prepare plain as she liked. - We had a small concern regarding two additional family members (who weren't initially covered under their room occupancy policy), but Manager Chay told us to relax by the lounge and have snacks while we wait while she handles the situation until later on she found solution to accommodate us in the end giving them exclusive passes at Kerry Sports gym. Rooms (Executive Suite and Deluxe) that were assigned to us that shared a private entrance and hallway gave two families privacy while still keeping everyone together. We initally planned to book one of their connecting rooms, but since it's unavailable, what they chose for us was close to a connecting room. Generous amenities and comfortable beds. High Street Cafe – loved their smoked bacon that didn't taste preservatives, chicken noodle soup and dimsums, and Kids Corner that allowed kids to select their own options (with kids' plates and cutleries available). Kid-friendly facilities – Adventure Zone indoor playground available (that we're coming back next time) and pools safe for kids. What wowed us even more was their birthday setup for my dad – handwritten birthday card, balloons, wine, cake, chocolate tower. The reveal was perfect, surprise was carefully preserved, and seeing my dad's reaction made the plan worthwhile. Truly memorable! Special mention to: Kim and Jan of Front Desk (during check-in), Aira of High Street Lounge, Klarisa / Rico / Zeem of Amenity Team (for the birthday setup and card), Manager Chay Rosales of Horizon Club Lounge (for your effortless assistance), JC at Canton Road (for expertly preparing our Peking Duck tableside and for surprising my dad with a complimentary Prosperity Cake and the entire staff for singing "Happy Birthday"), Gela of High Street Cafe, the Egg Ambassador (who accommodated my tiny request for a 6-min boiled egg that was cooked exactly as I'd hoped), and Nicole of Front Desk (during check-out). THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ALL OF YOU! I can go on and on how every moment at Shangri-La Fort left us more impressed than the last. I can only say positive words to this hotel. You gave our family one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had and we can't thank you enough. We just can't wait to go back.

“Exceptional hospitality by Nikki”

Nikki, lounge receptionist, was excellent. She was kind, professional, and genuinely helpful throughout my experience. You can tell she truly cares about guests and always goes above and beyond. Shangri-La is lucky to have her on the team. :)

So for this year's company team building event, we've decided to go with Shangri-La The Fort. The Good 1. THE BRANDING ITSELF - Simply put, the great attendance turn-out that we had was primarily because of the hotel. PERIOD. 2. The staff - Everyone was doing their best to accommodate such a crowd of around 150 participants. A huge thanks to all parties involved, especially to Ms Kay Hernandez for helping us arrange and coordinate this. The FO team was fantastic and tried to get everyone into their respective rooms. The banquet team was very present to address all our concerns and requirements for our team building and town hall events. 3. The FOOOOOOOD - Our participants were well-fed and enjoyed the food presentation and selection. I definitely enjoyed BREAKFAST. 4. So much amenities! The Bad 1. The room, the bed, the amaaaazing shower - But since this was a work-related stay on my part, it's on me that I wasn't able to FULLY enjoy the great facilities. HAHA Neither Good Nor Bad 1. NADA. The Verdict If given the opportunity again to come back for just a weekend of rest and relaxation, I would LOOOOOOOVE to do this.
