“Wonderful stay”

The hotel is located in Makati close to many shopping and dining options. The hotel is well kept, the staff friendly and helpful. My room was spacious and very comfortable. The Buffett breakfast had many choices including a couple of sushi and dim sum options !

New World hotel Makati exceeded all our expectations and delivered world class service to us in all angles. It is a popular, heritage 5 star hotel located at the heart of Makati city walking distance to Greenbelt 5, it has the best location ever!!! Nestled amongst the high rise buildings of Makati it is surprisingly very cool and not hot or humid at the hotel premises complex which surprised us a lot. We were looking for a play to stay and celebrate my niece’s 18th bday and after looking for the perfect and reasonably priced buffets we picked New World Hotel. New World is the most economical out of plentiful 5 stars around Makati, it has a buffet option at its Cafe 1228 and the location is unbeatable - right across Greenbelt 5 nothing could get better than this!!! We booked 2 superior twin rooms for 3 adults with breakfast at just 200++ sgd per night per room via Agoda and we got a great deal for that!!! Since its my niece’s 18th bday we also availed of their lunch and dinner buffets at cafe 1228 (separate review) and an ala carte dinner at their Jasmine Chinese restaurant. Check-in was fast and smoot and they allowed us to have early check-in and late check-out. We were both booked at 7F and one room has view of their pool and the other one the city. Both rooms were clean, tidy, elegant, impeccable and truly a 5 star world class room!!! It has the elegance, beauty, size and world class quality of a 5 star hotel. The twin beds are massive more like a Queen bed. The extra bed is quite huge for a single bed. The mattress, blankets and pillows are clean, smooth, soft and fluffy and really marks a 5 star hotel quality. They also have a living room area with comfy Grey sofa for 2 and a separate Brown King lounge chair. There is a round black metal coffee table placed in this spot as well. The wardrobe is huge and has irons, hangers and lits automatically. The minibar is located inside the compartments beside the wardrobe and they have complimentary coffee/tea/bottled water/cups/kettle. They can replenish your bottled water free upon request. The white mini fridge and safety box are also located here. Despite being a heritage hotel, New World is well maintained - it has both classic and modernity blended well together. I loved the modern painting on the room/lobby cozy/modern lighting/chandeliers. As you enter the room, the toilet with shower/tub are located to the right from the door and its huge - 4 people can fit on it. Tub is on the right, sink at center and shower on left. Their toiletries have aromathic smells. They provide clean towels in complete set. They also have complimentary slippers, glasses and compartments here. Water heating is easy to use and pressure quite strong only thing the hot water gets too hot easily you need to manage the knob. The tub is easy to fill and drain but a bit low difficult for big people. The sink has big wall mirror and the toilet has cozy warm lighting. The room is overall Beige in tones and has brown carpeting, brown black out curtain, and beige toilet floor tilings. WIFI is fast and smooth and TV has lots of local and cable channels but not Smart TV. Someone knocked on our wall when we were talking at the middle of the night so not sure if they heard us loud and noisy. There is a long side table that continues from the minibar to the TV area with lots of compartments and a Grey cushioned chair here. Lots of space in a 5 star room truly lives to its testaments. The ammenities include a big lap pool and kiddie pool at 4F which is very clean and relaxing. Lots of lounge chairs also in this area to relax and cool down with a pool bar. The only thing is that the water is cold. We enjooyed the pool 2x our stay here. The 3F has a huge fitness center with lots of equipment catered to your fitness regime. We have a complimentary drink of beer or wine at the lounge bar courtesy of the hotel. It offers live music at night every hour which really is a bonus for us!!!! The singer and band was great and they delivered live plus we got a free peanuts and olives on the sides. The mood that night was very chill and relaxing and because its free it gave more sense of fun!!! They also have a real bar and rooftop bar which we didn’t try maybe next time. Their lobby was huge and massive with very high ceilings, cozy lighting, modern lounge chairs, modern paintings and top down glass facades!!! We even have a view of Greenbelt 5 across the road with Louis Vuitton very prominent. That day since it was my niece 18th bday we also celebrated mass at Greenbelt and some of my family have lunch/dinner buffet at cafe 1228 and we had an ala carte meal at Jasmine Chinese restaurant which surprisingly is pretty good - we will definitely come back here. We had an amazing dim sum, fish congee, fried rice, chicken feet and xioa long bao!!! All very tasty and fresh kudos to Jasmine restau!!! The interior also embodies traditional Chinese items and design which was very elegant and pretty!!! My niece had her Bday cake blowing and photo with my family here at Jasmine’s and glad we picked this spot - its something for keeps and to remember!!! For cafe 1228 we loved the cozy and modern seating but lunch is better than dinner!!! My family tried both and no more crabs at dinner. The roast beef is also a bit hard to chew. But we loved their fresh salad, cheese, fruits, juices, cold cuts, French food, Risotto, desserts, buttered clams/shrimp/crabs. Soda and Coffee/Tea can be ordered ala carte for free but for new guests they wouldn’t know these items are free. I would recommend lunch here instead of dinner!!! For their breakfast, the Filipino items are a bit underwhelming especially the dangit which is undercooked and chewy. Aroz caldo is also bland with no calamansi. But we loved the Raw natural honey in the fruits area very fresh and healthy!!! Not too sweet and heavy kudos for adding this!!! Our other fave is their frozen taho which is the first of its kind I’ve experienced!!! Despite being frozen it maintained and delivered the original and fresh taste of the taho!!! Their eggs are also fresh and delish. But one thing I’ve noticed so many staff are checking each table if we’re done eating so I felt like their rushing us to finish eating. Regardless, I would highly recommend and definitely come back at New world hotel because it still one of the best hotels we’ve experienced with 5 star quality in Manila!!! The staff were excellent, friendly, helpful and accommodating to all our needs and requests!!! They provide baggage services both checking in and out and the staff will help you carry them.
