“Beautiful views, amazing staff, and a stay we won’t forget”

My partner and I absolutely loved our stay at Edgewater Resort in Puerto Galera. From the moment we arrived it felt calm, welcoming and very personal. We were welcomed with fruit and some refreshments, AND a quick little massage. The location is beautiful. It is tucked away in its own quiet little bay, which makes it feel really peaceful compared to the busy areas like Sabang and White Beach. However a quick request for a tricycle into the town areas was so easy to organise through reception. Waking up to the bay view each morning was such a nice way to start the day and it really felt like a place where you can properly relax. What stood out the most to us though was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly kind, responsive and helpful. Anytime we had a question or needed help organising something, they were quick to assist and always did it with a smile. It felt like they genuinely cared that we were having a good stay, which made a big difference. The rooms were comfortable with beautiful views over the water, and the whole resort has a really relaxed atmosphere. The pool area overlooking the bay was also one of our favourite spots to sit and unwind. We also have to mention the cocktails. We definitely learned the fun way that if you are planning to have a couple of drinks, they are very generous with the alcohol! Haha. If you want to get drunk, one cocktail might actually do the job. Tasty and strong. Overall it was such a lovely stay. The peaceful location, the beautiful setting and especially the kindness of the staff made it a place we would happily come back to.

I really enjoyed our stay here. Close enough to the hustle and bustle of Sabang beach but far enough away to relax and sleep in peaceful surroundings. We had a garden room and it was perfect. “Tranquility in a Cove”

Edgewater is just 20 minutes from Balatero Port which makes it very convenient. Edgewater is just 20 minutes from Balatero Port which makes it very convenient. Upon arrival, we were greeted and welcomed by Mary Anne with welcome drinks, fresh fruits and refreshing warm towels as she briefs us on the resort’s facilities and services and the local scenes. The rooms are quite spacious and very clean. We stayed in rooms 3 and 4. The rooms were furnished with cable TV, a mini fridge and split type air conditioning units that runs nice and cold. The mattresses and pillows are of 5-star hotel quality with sheets and down duvet covers made of high quality pure cotton that gave us the best vacation sleep ever! There is hot shower in the bath and personal care products are provided as well. Wifi is fast and reliable. The location is away from the loud touristy commercial areas. Nice and private if you’re looking to relax in a peaceful and quiet place. Breakfast is served in generous portions with coffee and juice at their restaurant that overlooks the cove opening out to the open ocean. Scuba diving is guided by DM Marlon who is very helpful and professional. Boat Capitan Christian is nice and engaging as well. The dive sites are just a few minutes away by boat from Edgewater. The corals and marine life in Puerto Galera are so rich and vibrant, no wonder a lot of people visit Puerto Galera every year. We saw several turtles, frog fish, clown fish, nudibranch, mantis shrimp and much much more. Snorkeling trips from Muelle Pier is also fascinating. Snorklers have an option to be pulled by the small motorized bangka around the coral and marine sanctuary that allows you to see the entire area effortlessly. Special shout out to Richard, Mary Anne, DM Marlon, Christian, Janet, Shane, Yumi, Chef Niño, Jeff, and Ate Melai who all made our stay extremely pleasurable! Thank you!

As an author and energy-sensitive traveler, I seek spaces that hold both beauty and presence. Edgewater had moments of magic – and gaps to close: Loved: – Warm welcome with fruit & drink – Quiet mangrove bay, breakfast by the water – Friendly team (thank you, Mark!) – Extra writing desk arranged when they learned I’m an author – Feather blanket & soft towels for cozy nights – Cats everywhere (always a plus ) – The sunset view on my last evening – unforgettable Could improve: – Strong musty smell in both rooms (even after change) – Construction site next to the pool – breaks the vibe – Spa is “on request” only & at double the local price (not a real spa experience) – Housekeeping only on request and very basic – No full-body mirror in the room – Restaurant pricing too high for what’s offered Final note: Edgewater has heart and potential – but true luxury lives in details beyond the Instagram frame. In my conscious rating, this stay would land at around 8.3 /10 – because presence matters.
