Me and my friends had a wonderful time at this resort that we extended 3 more nights than our original plan! We visited Puerto Galera for scuba diving and the dive shop is truly top notch! Loved that their location is just minutes away from awesome dive sites. Their staff, from front desk, to restaurant, to housekeeping, and of course their diveshop are truly amazing! Unlimited clean, drinking water in the room is a game-changer! The meals included in Verde Island dive were just super! We arrived late due to missing out on the last boat to Balatero and had to go to Calapan and they arranged a pickup for us even though it was last minute request. Sure, they may be a bit pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Lalaguna Villas and can’t recommend them highly enough! The location is perfect—peaceful and beautiful, yet close enough to everything you need in Sabang. From the moment we arrived, everything was incredibly well organized. The team arranged our transfers from the ferry and back seamlessly, which made the entire trip completely stress-free. The dive operation is outstanding. We dived with Mike and Kent, and they were both fantastic: professional, friendly, and clearly very experienced. The entire dive crew is extremely well organized, and safety is obviously a top priority. Every dive was conducted with care and attention to detail, while still keeping the atmosphere relaxed and enjoyable. The briefings were thorough, the equipment well maintained, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. We also completed our AOW and Nitrox PADI courses during our stay, with all our training led by Liam. He was an excellent instructor—patient, clear, and very safety-focused. He made the learning process enjoyable while ensuring we felt confident and comfortable at every step. It was a truly great and safe experience, and we’re very grateful to have done our courses there. Our room was spotless and very comfortable, cleaned meticulously every day. The entire resort feels well cared for and welcoming. A special thanks as well to Fer and the entire front desk team. From organizing transfers to answering questions and assisting with anything we needed, everything was handled efficiently and with a smile. The restaurant staff were attentive and kind, and breakfast each morning was excellent. Overall, Lalaguna Villas delivers the complete package: great location, top-notch diving, comfort, safety, and genuinely warm hospitality. We’ll definitely be back!

“Fantastic friendly staff”

The Office staff, Bar & waiters/waitresses & Dive team were all very friendly. We enjoyed the diving and the food on offer. We would recommend this resort to many. If diving don’t miss the Mandarin Fish dive on dusk.

First impressions were great when we arrived as the staff greeted us. Very friendly, and we found all the guests to be really friendly aswell. We booked a Superior Studio, which on the photos had a balcony or outside seating. We didn’t get a balcony or outside seating, just a window facing a staircase which was pretty disappointing. The room was well equipped and had a minibar and other toiletries available for purchase. Air con was great. Modern TV with Netflix/Prime available. Big plus was the daily laundry they did, 1kg per room per day. Food was good, menu extensive and the chefs were good. Slightly pricier than outside but expected and probably worth it as restaurants in sabang weren’t great. The check out left a bad taste unfortunately. During our stay, my partner had an unexpected heavy period overnight that resulted in a stain on the bedsheets. This was completely unintentional and a normal biological accident while sleeping. Upon checkout, we were shocked to be charged $90 USD for ‘stained bedsheets.’ After pushing back, they agreed to reduce it to $50, but I’m still extremely disappointed and angry about the policy itself. Hotels deal with all kinds of bodily fluids daily—sweat, spills, nosebleeds, and yes, periods. Professional laundering handles blood stains effectively in most cases, and minor accidents like this should fall under normal wear and tear, not an opportunistic extra fee. $90 (even halved) feels excessive and punitive for something that couldn’t reasonably be prevented. It left us feeling embarrassed and nickel-and-dimed rather than respected as guests. I understand businesses need to protect their assets, I have 3 holiday homes myself and wouldn’t dream of charging guests for such a scenario. Treating a common menstrual mishap like deliberate damage is poor customer service. Future guests, especially couples or women—be aware and consider bringing dark towels or checking policies upfront. I was going to come back later this year to complete my PADI here but not now.
