Third time in Puerto Galera but first time with Scandi Divers One of the best dive locations in the Philippines Accommodation was good but the attitude of the staff was superb as was the food Diving was as normal also superb especially the Muck Diving for the seahorse and flamboyant cuttlefish Managed to spot 5 new, at least for me, nudibrach including a butterfly one and the pea size one called "shaun the sheep' Highly recommend Scandi Divers

Amazing place to dive, eat and relax! The diving was impeccable and the dive masters were amazing - M and F. The captains were on reef all the time and provided much needed assistance. Our day trip to verse island was almost perfect. The reefs are striving with life and the colors were popping. We had a newer diver with us who had symptoms of skin bends. After contacting the captain and staff, a decision was made to forego the last dive and return the diver back for medical attention. Their medical first aid responses were by the book. The facilities were very nice. The setup of the dive prep area was perfect. From rinse tanks to storage, from tables for setting up to camera rooms, from storage to drying, nothing needs to change. The food and service was one of the best I’ve experienced. I tried to think of a meal that was bad and came up empty. The penthouse rooms had perfect views and were very spacious. The only issue was walking past some persistent vendors. They made us uncomfortable. They would not take no for answer. The staff were amazing. Anything need was granted. We had 2 massages and were treated to some of the best and relaxing experiences. We also took a day trip and enjoyed the sights and tastes of the island. We will Be back!! Rob

Scandi Dive Resort is not a typical resort. It is a part of the "locals" community of Big La Laguna. The hotel with diving occupies several buildings right on the beach, with local housing in the same row or one row back. The kids swim off the beach, the neighbors have BBQ on the sand on low tide weekends. As a diver you step across the sidewalk to the sand and are on the boat with a small group headed to s nearby dive site. 10 min is a long commute. Muck, reef, wreck, mini wall...lots of choices. Nudibranchs, seahorses, frog fish, big turtles, peacock mantis shrimp , ghost pipefish, blennies, wrasses, trumpets, reef squid, and more -plenty to see and photograph. Big/good size schools of fish pass through, but you won't see them on every dive. You can go from suiting up to diving in 20 minutes, with staff carrying gear and cameras to the boats. The camera room is adjacent to the" get ready to dive area". I love their marked spaces with drawer below the counter that has 110 and 240v outlets built into the drawer, so your chargers, batteries, video lights are in the drawer. Saves counter space and nothing ever gets mixed up with your neighbor. Hotel rooms range from basic to suites - all are clean and simply furnished, most with ensuite private bath, AC by heat pump units really work! 3 meals a day included in your package. Good food, variety, very accommodating to allergies and preferences, served in the beach front dining room. The transportation that the resort organizes, picks you up at Manila Intl terminal in modern vans for the drive to the Batangas area charter ferry service. Your luggage is loaded onto a small boat and the charter ferry runs from day break to sunset direct to the Scandi resort. All set up by Scandi and runs like clockwork. The diving is a pleasure, and Filipino hospitality is welcoming and caring. The staff at Scandi are GREAT. They have the management of gear, loading of boats, delivering of cool washcloths, gear washing and drying down to a science with a smile. Have a new hip implant and following the "don't cross your legs" protocol - no worries - the dive staff will help you put on your dive socks and booties since you can't cross your legs to easily get to your feet! They younger diver hip and older diver accommodating. The diving and dining areas are beach front on 1st and 2nd floors. The guests rooms are a beach front flat walk to your building that will have a flight of stairs. Think of Scandi as a "built on the flat, NOT on the steep side of a hill" Good diving, gracious hospitality, by ownership and staff that are a happy team.

We just returned from a week of staying and scuba diving with Scandi Divers in Puerto Galera Philippines. There is a reason that Scandi Divers won the 2025 Scuba Readers’ Choice Award. Our stay was an absolute pleasure! The staff are very friendly and made us feel at welcome. The resort balances a peaceful beachfront atmosphere on Big La Laguna Beach with a top-tier, PADI 5-Star dive operation. Rex the Scuba Diving Manager is awesome. He keeps the Dive Operational running smooth and efficient. The Dive Masters emphasize safety but remember to keep it fun. The DM’s and guests dive in small groups and usually the group has their own boat. The DM’s provide excellent Dive Site Briefings, so all the divers know what to expect. Dive Shop Staff also take your tank and gear to the boat and also rinse and hang up all your gear when you return. Most dive sites are just a 5-10 minute boat ride away. TIP: Do not pass on the Verde Island Drop Off Dives. The dives are absolutely stunning. I have been diving in a lot of places in the World and these dives are some of the best in the World. Scandi Divers and their friendly and professional staff provided excellent customer service and exceeded our expectations. I cannot wait to return for another visit.
