My wife and I had a lovely time at the wild orchid beach resort yes it is a bit dated but the staff where cleaning and doing some painting in the reception area to brighten up the hotel. Our room was very nice though it was dated but it was very clean. The pool was lovely and very clean but that was dated. The biggest disappointment was the swim up bar was not in use and was in need to be repaired.

I traveled to the Wild Orchid on a lark with friends who were going to stay there, because I needed to get away from the big city, even if just for a day. If the words “beach resort” are in the name, then I am going to reserve a beach front room. The weather was very windy, very rainy, and the surf was very rough, but that did not stop the smiles, courtesy, and professionalism of the staff at check-in that carried through my entire 24 hour stay. The security presence was excellent and warm in spirit, but very serious and professional at the same time. Amazing pool, nothing more to say. Great kitchen and bar service. The chef and kitchen staff clearly know what to do. Even my eggs benedict had perfectly poached and molten eggs. My beachfront Room #7 was spacious, very clean, and well-appointed. The pillows were on par with Marriot, and although the mattress was a little hard for my taste (many would like it), the white noise provided by the surf and rain on the roof lulled me into a good night’s sleep. I have travelled a lot around the globe, and most coastal hotels in a humid environment naturally have a closed, musty-moldy smell, but not the Wild Orchid, so big kudos to the cleaning staff. The weather had closed the outdoor bar, etc., but we had no problem with first class service in the main outdoor dining area. This is not a high-end place or a low-end place, but rather that hard-to-find perfect middle range where value and service are at the top of the game. I will have to come here again in the dry season to see the Orchid in all its glory.

We recently stayed at Wild Orchid Beach Resort and had a mixed experience overall. First off, the general cleanliness was good and the staff were genuinely excellent – friendly, helpful, and easily the highlight of the stay. They really are a credit to the hotel. That said, the property itself is starting to feel a bit dated and could do with some renovation to modernise it. I understand that’s a big investment for a large hotel, but it does affect the overall value. A few things during our stay brought that value down. We were advised taxis to Olongapo City would cost 700–1000 pesos, but local drivers quoted 500, and one friendly driver even charged 350. It might be worth management reviewing this, as it creates a bit of confusion for guests. The house rules could also be clearer. “No outside food and drink” turned out to allow snacks and water, which was a bit confusing at first. Similarly, the rule about laundry sounded strict, but in reality drying towels or swimwear on chairs was fine. Clearer wording would help avoid misunderstandings. Water was another small frustration – the rules mention daily provision, but in practice it only happened when housekeeping visited, and only if requested. Over a stay, this adds up if you need to buy extra. There was also a private event during our stay with live music near our room. Totally understand events happen, but a heads-up or quick apology for the noise would have gone a long way. We ate at the hotel a few times – the menu choice is good, quality is average, and prices are a bit higher than nearby options. Given the restrictions on outside food, some guest incentives (like a small discount) would make dining in more appealing. One final concern was the room itself – our sliding door had a large gap and didn’t feel very secure, even when locked. Overall, while the staff were fantastic, the combination of unclear policies, value concerns, and the need for upgrades means I probably wouldn’t return.

Great family holiday , although very dated , old rooms / building …. Clean / friendly staff , great food and pool make up for run down building and rooms.. However would want upgrade before staying again as many years since make over ..
