We stayed at Solea Palm Resort Mactan as a family of three and chose it mainly because it is very family friendly. It delivered. There is loads to do on site, plenty of pools, water play areas, and even a soft play area for younger kids. Our 3 year old loved it. The resort feels set up for families, and you can easily spend full days there without needing to plan loads of outings. Breakfast was a highlight. The buffet is massive with incredible variety, and the main restaurant is huge. It is also open for lunch and dinner, which is convenient. We did day trips to Cebu Ocean Park and Cebu Safari and Adventure Park. The hotel also offers excursions but is pricey and there is a free shuttle service to a couple of malls, which is worth using as it is free and takes the hassle out of getting around. The only thing to be aware of is the location. There is not a huge amount immediately nearby apart from a small convenience store and a Korean restaurant outside the entrance. For more choice you will be using taxis or the shuttle to the malls. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend it to families.

Everything is Good, Room is clean and well sanitize. Front of the house personnel are approachable also. But we really appreciated their Service, Blance our In-room service Man, One thing that makes our vacation memorable is his service most especially to My Son who has a Autism, and his Patience and Sincerity towards My Sons condition is Top Tier, and we as parents of one Kid who needs special attention loves seeing our kid being treated in that kind way. Kudos also to Jericho for assisting Us during our Dine. Overall experience is Great and memorable, will surely comeback soon especially for our Son.

“Family fun at Solea Mactan”

We booked four rooms at Solea Mactan Resort directly with the resort, so we could share a holiday with the local Lapu-Lapu family. We stayed on the second floor in Building B. The rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable. Our booking included the breakfast buffet and it was enjoyed by all. Food quality and temperature was good for the most part. Peak times would be 7:30am-8:30am - so go before or after to avoid the crowds. The multiple pools on the property were thoroughly enjoyed by the family - especially the kids. The small "Aqua Play" area is only open on the weekends at the current time. The "Inflatable Waterpark" is currently closed for cleaning/renovation, but is due to reopen in the first/second week of December. The Pool Slides in the "Ritchie Pool" were not open during our stay, though the pool was open. The "Aqua Park" was enjoyed by the kids. Staff were friendly, outgoing and smiling.

I want to start this review by saying that the Solea Palm was the least expensive of the four hotels we stayed in the Philippines. So as that saying goes, "You get what you pay for." The Solea Palm Resort is great if you have kids. The pool with its multiple slides is a wonderful aqua playground for kids. It's located on a beach accessible only by a narrow, bumpy street with various vendors occupying shanty storefronts, So you're sort of isolated from downtown Mactan Island. You have to take a taxi or a "Grab" vehicle (similar to Uber and Lyft) in order to get around. The hotel is rather mediocre with basic rooms and service which was a bit ragged as if management forgot to train the staff in the art of hotel hospitality. (The exception was the front desk - which treated us well and promptly.) For instance: hand towels and floor mats were forgotten on three of five days. The air conditioner sounded like it was ready to die. It's beachfront and grass area had a fair share of plastic bottles and wrappers to negate the beauty of a tropical setting. Both the beach waters and the pool waters looked as if they needed a better filtration system. The dirty dishes in the outdoor dining area would sit for long periods - I timed it once at 30 minutes!) while guests waited for a table. (I even called for a server who acknowledged my request but then forgot. I ended up cleaning two tables in order for my family to sit down.) I never had a beef with any of the staff. They were always friendly, courteous and helpful but the lack of training to create a rich experience for its guests is truly lacking. On the good side, the food was decent although there are only two restaurants onsite but just outside their entry, is one of the best massage spas I experienced in the Philippines. Called Nouveau, their masseuses were excellent and the price for a one hour massage cost only $16. (You use Klook to set up your appointment) So while my experience at Solea was less than satisfying, the Nouveau experience definitely made up for it.
