Title says it all. This hotel punches way above it's weight for a bargain price. Very nice modern room and good quality breakfast. OK you get a few trains, just close the window. Title says it all. This hotel punches way above it's weight for a bargain price. Very nice modern room and good quality breakfast. OK you get a few trains, just close the window. They even have the good sense to give you some soft earplugs in your room but we didn't find them necessary. Staff friendly and location great to visit all town. Good restaurants nearby. Thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay and no hesitation to recommend, especially for train spotters lol

Great location, about 15 minutes steady walk to the main square. Staff very friendly and professional. The room was spotlessly clean, great shower, and very comfy beds. There is Sir con but no remote control so I can only presume its centrally controlled or you have to ask for the remote. Normally I would be bothered about this because it was hot but we were only there for the marathon so knew we'd sleep regardless. Breakfast is also very nice. Only two minor things that I won't put as negatives because it's only my thoughts; no bacon at breakfast which I miss and also no toaster which I found strange, not that we wanted ione, it just seemed strange. All in all a fantastic, clean, value for money place to stay, with a great breakfast and staff.

“Pleasant hotel in good location ”

We recently stayed for 4 nights and were mostly happy enough. The room was spacious, with good air con and WiFi. The bathroom also had a lot of room, free miniature toiletries, and a very powerful shower. We could have probably done with a bit more storage, as there was only 1 wardrobe, but overall… more

We recently stayed for 4 nights and were mostly happy enough. The room was spacious, with good air con and WiFi. The bathroom also had a lot of room, free miniature toiletries, and a very powerful shower. We could have probably done with a bit more storage, as there was only 1 wardrobe, but overall there was plenty of space. The beds had quite firm mattresses but were comfy enough. Our son had a sofa bed and found it very uncomfortable. It didn't have a mattress or any real cushioning, just the upholstered surface with the buttons on them. He was basically lying on a hard couch surface with upholstery buttons digging into him, and the duvet he got was smaller than the bed. He really struggled to get comfortable the entire trip and didn't sleep well. Noise wise, it is close to the railway line, but the noise wasn't an issue. You were aware of them going past, but it wasn't particularly loud, plus we were provided with earplugs in the room. With regards to cleaning, it was generally okay, but we did find our bedding was a bit stained, and we didn't get enough towels for the 3 of us when the rooms were cleaned. Whenever we asked for more towels though they were always very quick to get them for us. The breakfast was a bit disappointing, with not a lot of choice. There seemed to be a lot of salad, which was a bit unusual. The dining space was also very cramped, with most tables set up for 2. (although there were I think possibly 3 larger ones you would get about 5 or 6 people round) There were a couple of days we couldnt sit together, due to it being so busy, which was a shame. We liked the location, which was a 5 min walk from the train station, so handy for travelling around, and about a 20 min walk from the main square. There were also lots of shops in the area, plus restaurants and takeaways. The staff were also friendly. The fairer haired gentleman was always very pleasant and said hello whenever we passed. He was also very helpful when we needed more towels and our sofa bed set up. There was another man with darker hair who wasn't as friendly as his colleague, but would say hello back to us if we said it first. Overall, it was an okay stay. Good location, nice staff and room, but the sofa bed was definitely an issue (and consequently led to a lot of moaning from a grumpy tired teenager, which we could really have done without) and the breakfast choice and set up could also have been better.
