From the moment we arrived at Hotel Wenzel, our experience was nothing short of outstanding. The hotel is perfectly located right on Kraków’s main square, meaning you are quite literally in the heart of everything – restaurants, history, atmosphere – all on your doorstep. A huge mention must go to the staff, particularly Gregory on reception, who was absolutely first-class. His local knowledge was invaluable: recommending excellent restaurants, organising trips, and generally making sure our stay was seamless. There was also another gentleman on reception whose name we didn’t catch, but he was equally helpful, friendly, and professional. Nothing was too much trouble for either of them. The hotel arranged our airport transfer, and despite our flight being delayed due to customs queues, the driver was still there waiting for us. On departure, they again organised our taxi back to the airport, perfectly on time. Stress-free travel at its best. Hotel Wenzel also organised several tours for us, including Auschwitz and Birkenau, the Schindler Factory Museum, the Ghetto and Jewish Quarter walking tour, and the Salt Mine tour. One particular highlight was the guided Jewish Quarter and ghetto walk, where a knowledgeable guide met us at the hotel, walked us through the area, and took us directly to Schindler’s Factory for the museum tour. Exceptionally well organised and deeply moving. The breakfast deserves special praise — genuinely one of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had, and I’ve stayed in many hotels. The choice was extensive, the quality excellent, and everything beautifully presented. Quite simply, anything and everything you could want. The hotel itself was spotlessly clean throughout. Our room was beautiful, with a charming old Georgian-style elegance, stunning décor, and a luxurious bathroom and shower. The attention to detail was evident everywhere. The hotel also owns a restaurant next door, which serves fantastic food — extremely convenient and very high quality. I honestly cannot praise Hotel Wenzel highly enough. Outstanding staff, superb location, immaculate rooms, exceptional breakfast, and flawless organisation throughout our stay. You will not be disappointed if you book this hotel. We certainly wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Kraków.

“The Only Hotel in Krakow with a View of the Square”

Krakow, Poland, has a beautiful old town square and the Hotel Wentzl is the only hotel with a view of that lovely space. When we arrived on a rainy evening, after enduring three flights to get there, we opened the drapes at our window and were dazzled by the expansive sight in front of us. On one side of the square was the cathedral with its two towers beautifully lit up. In the other direction stood the illuminated town hall. And in the middle was the large Cloth Market building, also bathed in light. All around the edges of this very big square were the umbrellas of various cafes where flames from propane heaters were set up to try to keep customers warm. In the rain, everything was reflected in puddles and off the sheen of wet cobblestones, creating an atmosphere that was magical. Added to these sights were the sounds of the horses clip clopping by as they made their rounds with pretty white carriages offering romantic rides for tourists. And then, on the hour, from the top of the church tower, the official town bugler would sound a tribute to a martyred bugler from centuries before. We could watch as he opened the tower window and waved to spectators below. Being able to experience all this from our hotel room (#25) made our stay of five nights here very special. Besides the hotel’s great vantage point on the square, we must mention that the people manning reception were all very helpful, the housekeeping staff was thorough, and the breakfast offerings were plentiful. If you are planning a trip to Krakow, we highly recommend the Hotel Wentzl.

It is not the Cheapest place to stay but you certainly get what you pay for especially if you have a room overlooking the town square like we did (Room 22) Bed was large and super comfy and the decor is great . What a great stay we had here . It is not the Cheapest place to stay but you certainly get what you pay for especially if you have a room overlooking the town square like we did (Room 22) Bed was large and super comfy and the decor is great . The breakfast room is spacious with a great selection of food and the staff are very attentive . Reception is 24/7 and there is a bar and restaurant attached to the hotel with a seating area out in the square should you want to sit outside . We would stay here again

“Location in the heart of old town”

I'll give the hotel four stars because of the location and our room overlooking the main square. Definitely not a four star hotel though, needs renovation.
