My sister and I have just returned from a 3night stay at the Stay Inn Hotel. The location is great, very central to a lot of the main attractions and only a 10-15min walk to the bus/train station. The room was modern and clean and the bathroom spacious with a nice shower. Tea and coffee facilities and a handy fridge in the room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Previous posts have commented on noise and indeed the hotel provides ear plugs. However, we were pleasantly surprised by how quiet the hotel was, the church bells more rhythmic than intrusive on all but one occasion. We were on the second floor, facing the alley. The hotel Wi-Fi worked well and there were no restrictions on usage from what we could tell (no 15 minutes free and then you need to pay etc) and there were plugs by the bed if you needed to charge devices. The hotel’s dining facilities are via the attached restaurant ‘Mono’ and we were given a voucher for a free drink with a meal at check in. The online reviews were good and our pizzas were home made, crispy with plenty of toppings. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel because it didn’t fit in with our plans and lots of reasonably priced eateries around which are open early to late. Tips for Gdansk: We took the number 210 bus from the airport to the train/bus station which took about 40mins. It leaves from stand 1 outside the airport (follow the blue line out of the airport) and you we purchased our ticket (4.80pln/£0.98) from the red ticket machine directly next to the stand. Card payment accepted. You get a receipt along with a small ticket with a QR code which you validate in the orange machine on the bus. Returning to the airport we got the bus directly outside the train/bus station using the same process. One day we took the train to Sopot (approx 15min journey - a grand sum of £3.77 each return). We enjoyed a look around Sopot (small but clean and pretty) and visited the beautiful beach and enjoyed a walk along the promenade. Another day we visited the local shopping mall (Forum Gdańsk) which was a 12minute walk from the hotel. Very pretty with a canal running through it. Plenty of shops and eateries and a great way to spend a few hours. There’s free entry to different museums in the area on different days so it’s worth a google to see what’s going to be open when you’re in town. We enjoyed a wander through the Uphagen house (a reconstructed 18th century town house) and Arctus Court which shares the history of Gdansk and makes you appreciate the care that has gone into the post-war reconstruction. After spending the day exploring, we enjoyed people watching on the river bank with a beer from Salty’s in the food court. All in all a great hotel in a great city and somewhere we would definitely recommend.

We stayed for 3 nights during our recent trip to Gdansk and it was perfect! Great location about 15 mins walk from railway station and 2 minutes from the cathedral and the heart of this beautiful city. We arrived just before 12 lunchtime after an early flight but our room was ready for us. Our standard room was spacious and so comfortable and the shower was brilliant. We didn’t try breakfast at the hotel as there were so many great options within 5 minutes walk, but we didn’t hear good things. In terms of location, comfort and value I doubt if there’s a better option in the city.

“A fabulous hotel in an ideal location”

My wife & I have just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel & we really can't fault it. On arrival we were given a warm welcome by Weronika who checked us in with a minimum of fuss. Our room was spacious, the bed very comfortable, & a lovely en suite as well. The location is perfect for the Old Town. Situated just a cross the road from the impressive St Mary's Basilica - & all the other tourist attractions are within easy walking distance.

Great location, as previous reviews say. We were disappointed in our room assignment. First time we’ve ever been downgraded. We arrived 15 minutes before check in. We were supposed to be in room 307, as we requested an upper floor room because of reviews saying first floor has street noise. They gave 307 to guests who arrived before us! Tried to give us a first floor room and we declined. She said there were no more rooms available! We made the reservations in February for a May stay. She ended up giving us room 407. The room has “eaves” or slanted ceilings on one side. My back is still hurting from hunching over to walk in this room. She insisted we weren’t downgraded, but we strongly disagree. We could still hear tourists outside in the alley screaming late at night. Otherwise the hotel is fine.
