“Great Hotel”

Amazing location, clean, wonderful staff. We just crossed the street to go on hop on hop off bus, we walked to awesome restaurants and pastry shops. Very nice view of the famous square. Can walk to small markets or kiosks to grab water or small stuff. I would stay here again

Very acceptable room, well appointed with plenty of teas /coffees etc. A well stocked min bar and large wardrobe with a safe. Separate table and two easy chairs. Very acceptable room, well appointed with plenty of teas /coffees etc. A well stocked min bar and large wardrobe with a safe. Separate table and two easy chairs. The bar and restaurant menu selections are small but very tasty Portuguese fayre. The staff are friendlier than in many hotels we've stayed at and are very attentive. Can't complain at all.

“Nice location”

My wife and I stayed here twice, for a total of three nights. We had rooms on the third and sixth floors, facing the roundabout. Hotel front desk staff were helpful and professional. Arrangements for a breakfast "to go" package for an early transfer was seamless. Bar was fun for a quick refreshme... more

My wife and I stayed here twice, for a total of three nights. We had rooms on the third and sixth floors, facing the roundabout. Hotel front desk staff were helpful and professional. Arrangements for a breakfast "to go" package for an early transfer was seamless. Bar was fun for a quick refreshment. Breakfast was very nice with many options - eggs, bacon, oatmeal, yogurt, pastries, fruit, and more. Lots of space to enjoy also. Room was clean and functional. Free wifi and safe included. Our rain shower head was not working as it should, but still lots of water for a shower. Great location with a nice walk to Commerce Square. Would stay here again.

“Location good, but the noise and awful beds ruined my holiday.”

Booked for 5 nights and unfortunately would NOT choose to stay here again. I was allowed an early checked in, which was great as my flight was early. Booked for 5 nights and unfortunately would NOT choose to stay here again. I was allowed an early checked in, which was great as my flight was early. However, I was given a room on the first floor facing the front. As soon as I entered the room, the traffic and people noise was unbearable. I asked for a different room and was given a second floor facing inward, which was much quieter. HOWEVER, having stayed here for four nights (last night tonight thankfully!), I have had very little sleep and I feel awful. Poor soundproofing means I can hear other rooms flush their toilet, other guests coming and going loudly at all hours and the cleaners being noisy all day long. When there is cleaning above and next door, it’s like they’re stamping, dropping stuff on the hard floor and dragging furniture around, and it is super loud. The cleaners seem to work all day and generally make no effort so’s not to disturb guests. I even had two cleaning ladies screaming at each other in the hall outside my room yesterday morning. The worst thing for me is the beds. They are VERY hard and uncomfortable. So much so that my entire holiday has been spoiled by having little energy due to lack of sleep. My back and hips ache every morning and between the uncomfortable beds and the noise, I think I’ve averaged four hours of broken sleep per night… which isn’t great when there’s so much to see and do. The location of the hotel is great. The hop on/off buses are outside (I’d give them a miss though as they’re useless). The metro and bus stops are right outside and there’s a lovely park just across the roundabout. Receiption and other staff that I encountered were helpful and friendly. The room is of a decent size and the aircon is alright. Probably not going to be great at the height of summer though. The water in the shower goes from cold to boiling, and getting it at a useful temperature is tricky. The mini bar wasn’t very well stocked, but what was there is reasonably priced. If the beds had been better, it would’ve made the stay bearable. But they aren’t and it’s meant that I haven’t felt fit enough to make the most of my time here, which is a shame.
