An old Lisbon set of apartments converted into a B&B. Huge high ceilings massive doors, and veranda windows. A lift that is either 2 people or 2 peoples luggage. Staff could not be kinder the answer is yes now what’s your question. Ok the nearby roadworks were noisy but they warned us. The floors were noisy but it was an old building. If you leave breakfast hungry it’s your own fault.

“Quaint- although no cheese or wine”

Nice, clean and quaint. It was a small boutique hotel. I loved the tall ceilings and warmth of both the staff and the room. There is some work going on the roads, but there wasn't any noise disturbance. Its about 12 mins walk to a train station, and 5 mins walk to catch famous 28E. Its at the edge … more

Nice, clean and quaint. It was a small boutique hotel. I loved the tall ceilings and warmth of both the staff and the room. There is some work going on the roads, but there wasn't any noise disturbance. Its about 12 mins walk to a train station, and 5 mins walk to catch famous 28E. Its at the edge rather than at the centre of the tourist area, but it helps that it avoids most of the walks up the hill. Good breakfast, please ask them if you need eggs freshly cooked. Although the name cheese n wine seems misleading, there wasn't any served. Perhaps only available if you know of them and book directly.

After exploring Porto and Fatima, we headed to Lisbon. The weather was pleasant, and our hotel/apartments were also located close to the city center. The hotel is situated in an old building on a rather narrow street with limited parking options – after 7 p.m., parking is only available for residents of the street. In Portugal, apartments do not have traditional heating; rooms are heated only by air conditioning units with heating functions. We were given a fairly large ground-floor apartment divided into two parts: a bedroom for the parents with a large, comfortable bed, and a children’s area with a large bunk bed (actually three levels). There was also a spacious bathroom. Unfortunately, the apartment faced an internal small courtyard covered by a plastic roof. Because of this setup, air circulation was practically nonexistent, which, with five people (for example, all taking showers one after another), caused the apartment to lack fresh air. Fortunately, the next day we were moved to another apartment with windows facing the street, where we could ventilate the rooms by opening the windows. Breakfast was okay, with good-quality ingredients and a big plus for tasty bread. However, there was a lack of vegetable variety, which seems typical for Portugal. One thing really bothered us – on the second day, by chance, we overheard a receptionist informing a group of guests about the possibility to order hot dishes like scrambled eggs or boiled eggs. We were never told this, and when we asked if the buffet was all there was for breakfast, the answer was yes. We suggest improving this communication, for example by placing information on each table, so all guests are properly informed.
