We spent two nights at this hotel and quite enjoyed it. The rooms was spacious, with a great view of one of the pools. The hotel has two pool areas, even though when we stayed, the outdoor pools were closed. This was a pity, as the temperatures were well above 20 degrees and it would have been wonderful to be able to sunbathe and swim. The hotel has an indoor pool and spa but we did not venture there as the hotel was quite busy with families and due to Covid we thought it might be wise to stay away from that. The breakfast buffet is varied, the staff friendly. We had dinner one night and the food was fine, even though we recommend the 15 minute drive into Ponte de Sor where there are many fantastic and affordable restaurants. The location of the hotel is great if you want to go to the lake. The only thing really worth criticizing is the fact that we initially booked only one night, as we wanted to make sure we liked the place before extending our stay. As we liked it and the weather was inviting, we went to reception and asked to stay a second night. We were told the hotel was fully booked, so no. We then went online, found a room on a booking website for almost the same price we had paid for our first night and booked it. We went back to the reception and told them we had booked a second night, could we please stay in the same room. We were told that we would have to move rooms, as it was a different category of room. Fortunately the room was ready and we moved straight away. It was closer to reception and had a view to another pool, and had an espresso machine. Otherwise it was exactly the same. So it makes you wonder whether they have their act together. They would rather lose a guest than try and accommodate them for a second night? I don’t understand the attitude. In the end it worked out ok, though.

For a 5 star Hotel the service is very poor. How can a hotel, at peak time, have the restaurants closed for lunch???? Only available food is at the pool bar. For a 5 star Hotel the service is very poor. How can a hotel, at peak time, have the restaurants closed for lunch???? Only available food is at the pool bar. For dinner the restaurant is also closed, the buffet is available on the breakfast site, expensive for what it is. Rooms are good size although from the reception we have to go up 1 floor, walk 5 minutes, go down a floor, walk 2 minutes to get to the room! Safe was broken, it was fixed later, the slider balcony door is broken/stuck and it takes 2 persons to open it only halfway. Breakfast was OK.

The hotel is located well next to the lake, and the pools are decent. However this is certainly not a 5 star hotel. The rooms are a good size and have good views. The hotel is located well next to the lake, and the pools are decent. However this is certainly not a 5 star hotel. The rooms are a good size and have good views. Not sure why anyone would pay extra for a lake view room though as all rooms have a view of the lake, just some over the pools. There is a rather disconcerting photo of a bunch of old farmers with pitchforks overlooking the bed which isn’t great. There is an espresso machine, but no milk or sugar anywhere to be seen. The service is the thing that really lets this hotel down. Staff are nice enough although not particularly warm. But the service takes forever. We ordered a beer and cocktail from the pool bar and they said they would bring it to our table. It took 45 minutes to arrive, with no one else in the queue. Each day our food orders would take a huge amount of time to arrive, and once our food arrived after 45 minutes, and our drinks came after an hour. It makes no sense as it wasn’t super busy and there were plenty of serving staff. It is really disappointing as there aren’t many close options around, but even so we felt compelled to drive 25 mins each evening to the nearest town to escape the poor service of the hotel. With a management change and better training, this hotel could be a place I could return to, but I can say here and now that I won’t ever be coming back

This was the second NAU hotel that I've been to, and the trend is clear - despite being rated as a 5-star hotel, it's not nearly as good as many 4-star hotels that I've been to. This hotel in particular has a bad AC situation. Only the rooms have AC, meaning that the rest of the hotel is uncomfortably hot, which is worsened by the fact that it's located in a very hot region already. The gym also doesn't have AC, so working out there can be very uncomfortable. The rooms leave a lot to wish for, for a 5-star hotel. There's little to no privacy in the bathroom, since it's not a separate room, and the only thing separating the bedroom from the bathroom is a glass door to a cubicle where the toilet and bidet are. The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere, with most points of interest and establishments over 30 minutes away by car, which means that it's not a very good hotel choice if one would like to go out for dinner sometimes or explore the region. I'd say that the best part of my stay at this hotel was the Lobby Bar, which server amazing hamburgers (the Hamburger Lobby is particularly great). However, the chef(s) need to get familiar with meat temperatures, as I requested rare/medium-rare every single time and it was always served as a medium-well. The prices at the hotel are ridiculously high, though, with the aforementioned hamburger costing 14€ each. One two-person meal easily surpasses 35€, something that didn't happen at the first NAU hotel that I visited. This hotel is likely not an option for a future vacation, mainly due to the heat and lack of AC in common areas of the hotel, and also for the prices being far too high for the quality presented.
