+ Great location close to everything, walking distance. + The staff were very friendly, which is good since you need to ask for all amenities including toilet paper and soap. + Design is a wonderful combination of old and new, spacious courtyard. They called themselved a charm hotel and we think this is warranted. + Clean rooms. + Real blankets, which is not always the case in warmer countries. + Wifi and A/C both worked excellent! + Given the limited number of reviews we found beforehand, we assume it is not popular, maybe just overlooked? We were definitely glad it was a real place when we arrived. - Breakfast rather basic with little variety, coffeemaker broke down every day. Although our child loved the spongecake. Maybe ok if you stay 1-2 nights, but otherwise might make sense to skip breakfast and dine out. - Crazy neighbour throwing food to cats and birds, but this just affects the 1 room with a balcony, which we really couldn't use much. For those coming by car - the parking garage down the street is quite expensive, has very limited spaces and car access to the hotel or parking requires you to ignore no entry signs (the old town is a restricted area). Thus we chose to park up the hill (ok if you are athletic enough, the old town is like that on both sides of the river anyway) at the General Torres metro station, which always had plenty of room, was significantly cheaper and in a public zone. Both parking options were only payable in cash.

We had a 4 day city break. First impressions when we arrived in the taxi was that we were at the wrong hotel as it was just a scruffy green door on a narrow street. However the Hotel was beautiful and quaint inside. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious and comfy. Hotel was well situated on the Gaia side of the river close to the cultural centre with easy access to the Porto side. We would definitely recommend.

Beautiful friendly hotel in the heart of the city Stayed here for 3 nights and it’s a fabulous location and rooms are large and spacious. Only negative from me was lack of a kettle but I could have asked reception had it been a deal breaker for us. Two friends booked as a package holiday with easyJet but gave us a double bed which isn’t ideal but they couldn’t change the bed or room so no choice but to stay with that. That aside I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel Breakfast is nice and the setting is lovely Handy fridge in room Plenty wardrobe space The honesty bar was a great surprise too and made a lovely area to meet up with others

We are very disappointed with our overall stay at this hotel. We paid extra for a Superior Room expecting a noticeable upgrade, but there was virtually no difference compared to the Standard Rooms booked by our family members. It certainly did not justify the additional cost. The room itself was below expectations. The pillows were uncomfortable, and housekeeping standards were poor. The room was not cleaned properly, with dust visible in several areas, and overall it did not feel well maintained. Basic amenities that we would expect in a Superior Room, such as a kettle and an iron, were not provided. In addition, only one and a half rolls of toilet paper were supplied for two adults and one child, which was clearly insufficient. That being said, the staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay, which we truly appreciated. Overall, we feel that the hotel did not provide good value for money, and unfortunately our experience did not live up to the standards we expected. Sadly, we would not choose to stay here again.
