We loved our stay here. The staff were very helpful even before we arrived. The accommodation is situated in a central location of this beautiful city. The accommodation had everything we needed and was very clean. We were located on the top floor without a lift (we knew when we booked), however the climb was not a problem for us. Would highly recommend.

“mixed stay”

The apartment's location is fantastic, close to the Cathedral and sao bento station. We were able to reach everywhere we wanted by foot. During the day it was lovely having the windows open, listening to the music being played by the Cathedral and the gentle buzz of tourists and the cafe nearby. At night, it was peaceful. The communication with the owners was quite good, we were given codes near arrival time allowing us to enter the apartment easily. The apartment is a little dated and tired. We stayed for 3 nights and each day we'd find more things we didn't like about it. On arrival there were hairs in the shower, one of the window shutters wouldn't open, there was black mould patches on the stone wall near the window, one of the light switches was missing. A lot of this you can overlook as the cost was reasonable, and we came here to explore the city, not stay home. However, at night we found the "bed" (I think it's a sofa bed) to be uncomfortable, very firm, with one very firm pillow each. Oh, and I walked into the corner of the bed with my shin several times in the 3 days as it juts out into the room. The next morning I went to make a coffee and after a few attempts and finding instructions online, it was clear that the coffee machine was actually broken! There was no iron for my crumpled clothes. We had one hiball glass in the cupboard so I had to drink water from a wine glass. There is nowhere in the bathroom to hang any clothes and the toilet roll holder falls off constantly. The safe doesn't work. And the front door slams loudly beneath the room everytime anyone enters or leaves the building. If the owners stayed in the room for a couple of days, I'm sure they would understand what a traveller wants and be able to resolve most of these issues easily enough. When we left we received messages, putting pressure on leaving 5 star reviews as they care so much about clients ect etc which is actually a little insulting! Reviews are based on experiences, spend some more time making a better experience for customers and less time on telling them what you want from them? PROS: *Excellent location *Good communication - easy check in *Lovely vibe in the area and cobbled narrow streets *reasonable cost Cons: *Bed is uncomfortable *Tired and dated *Noisy front door *Poor facilities - no safe, no iron, insufficient glasses, no working coffee machine, blind wasn't working, cheap furnishings, Black mould. Overall this could be a really good place to stay with some small imrpovements - would we return to Porto? definitely! Would we stay here again? No.

FOZ ROOM- Room was dated and did not look like the pics. Upon arrival we were notified that the room safe is not working. AC in room was not working either at first. FOZ ROOM- Room was dated and did not look like the pics. Upon arrival we were notified that the room safe is not working. AC in room was not working either at first. The hallway lights would flicker on and off every night all night long-. The website states a welcome basket and a glass of port wine- we did not receive and once we brought it to the attention of the worker (who btw was hardly ever there) he said he had no idea. We were there for 5 days and no cleaning service. Shower head was broken and by far the WORST shower pressure I’ve ever experienced. Bathroom sink did not drain properly. On the last night I had a massive centipede fall on me while in the bed. We would not stay here again. Website states we should get but we did not: Welcome basket Toaster Daily maid service - I asked the guy and he said it depends on how many days—- LOL we stayed 5 days. Freezer—— it was completely ice and needed to be thawed
