Excellent stay in this very beautiful large and spacious hotel. Very calming hotel with a dark and moody ambiance which was very relaxing. Could hear traffic outside, the windows were not very sound proof. Service was fantastic. The rooms were spacious, very large 2 double beds put together, double sink bathroom, no lock on toilet, shower or bathroom doors. Very large wardrobe. Came with nspresso coffee, kettle, 2 complimentary waters and empty fridge! Very large wardrobes and everything was dark and low lighting. Very clean hotel and location was the best. the hotel bar was beautiful and had the best music! Very nice original cocktails were served. Staff were all very friendly. Breakfast offered was a vast range of foods, cooked, continental and healthy, take your pick. We left early one morning and we could get our breakfast as a take away. Extremely friendly. Spa was incredible, I had Bianca who gave me a muscle relaxer massage. Amenities in the spa was fantastic. Great value for money, on the expensive side, but no complaints apart from locks on toilet!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Hilton Porto Gaia. The kind of stay that quietly ruins all future hotels for you. Lol. We’re already asking ourselves how soon is too soon to come back…we’ll be back, FOR SURE! A huge thank you to Patricia, Alice, and Eduardo, who made everything feel effortless, warm, and genuinely fun!! The level of care and attention was next level from start to finish. The spa access was pure bliss, the kind where you lose track of time and briefly consider changing your entire life plan. Dinner reservations at M’arrecreo Gaia were seamless, and our Douro Captain boat tour booking was handled perfectly. A special shoutout to Alice for going completely above and beyond, including getting our Uber. And the champagne on arrival plus the daily in-room goodies! Come on now… it honestly felt like we were living in a very well-appointed celebration for the entire stay. Every day had that little “oh wow, again?” moment that never got old, and we LOVED it! Beautiful hotel, exceptional people, and a truly luxurious experience from beginning to end. We left relaxed, really spoiled, and already planning on coming back. I want to thank you all for making our stay absolutely memorable and special. Thank you for the awesome upgrade also!!!!

We stayed at the property for 5 nights. We are Diamond level members and we were treated so well but honestly I think that they treat all their guests like we were treated. We stayed at the property for 5 nights. We are Diamond level members and we were treated so well but honestly I think that they treat all their guests like we were treated. The breakfast had a wide variety of items including salad fixings! There was the standard fare of made to order eggs bacon beans mushrooms etc. the traditional cold cuts and cheeses. The only fish was salmon pinwheels with cream cheese and lettuce — they were small. Lots of different breads and rolls to choose from plus many different pastries and cakes to round out the breakfast. There were yogurts both regular and greek and some other items including cold cereal. There was no hot cereal like oatmeal. As a diamond level member we had access to the executive lounge. There was the tradition wine and beer and hard liquors and mixes. There were appetizers but mostly with some sort of fish in them. There was no soup or bread and there were lovely pastries and other small deserts. It was not the best we have been too nor the worst. The deserts were the best part. The hostess was lovely!

Our 2-night stay at Hilton Gaia turned out to be a fantastic experience. The hotel management delivered to us a personally curated stay. To make the review helpful for others, I am skipping below some of the aspects of the stay that are not likely to be replicated in stays of others. First, as background, I am diamond of Hilton, Titanium of Marriott, Platinum of IHG and was in the past RA of InterContinental. I know pretty well the hotel industry, and know very well what to expect of a Hilton brand hotel of the Hilton chain. I contacted the hotel ahead of my stay, and communicated with them multiple times. Based on the communication, I set my expectations to be 'above normal stay at a Hilton hotel'. Hilton Gaia exceeded those higher expectations. The hotel is a member of Amex 'Hotel Collection', and I booked it via that program. That turned out to be a great choice: The requisite Amex benefits were delivered in full, to complete satisfaction, and the combination of the Amex reservation and the diamond status resulted in an enhanced double-dip stay. The location of the hotel is very good: Short walking to the river, and long (still doable) walking to the heart of Porto. We came with a car, parked it at the hotel (valet, professionally handled), and used no transportation during the stay other than our own feet. We walked about 15-20 km in total (in two days). Food at the hotel was very good. The breakfast (at the restaurant - the alternative one at the lounge is continental) was ample and the selection was of good quality. We have one dinner at the bar-restaurant on the first floor: good quality, reasonable price, very enjoyable experience. The two happy hour receptions at the lounge were limited in good savory food, and was very satisfactory in all other aspects. We were upgraded to the only junior suite they have at the hotel and enjoyed its hardware much. The suite has a good size balcony with partial view of the river which was a notable plus. I did not examine any other rooms at the hotel. The hotel staff was superb, ahead of my stay and during the stay: Continuous attention, and genuine efforts to deliver. Among the many who contributed to the success of the stay, let me mention three: Patricia R, the FDM, Patricia R, the GSM, and Eduardo R, one of the DMs, and the one who was in charge during most of our weekend stay.
