The location of this hotel is perfect, it is a two minute walk to the waterfront area and about 8 minutes to the start of Rue des Flores in town. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. There is a glass shower, but once it steams up, you can't see inside it. The glass toilet area is very frosted, so it is not as bad as some have claimed. The service was great, but we found we had to ask before help was offered, once you ask the question they go out of their way to help you. We went out the first night to the waterfront area and quickly learned that you need reservations for almost any restaurant in that area. So when we asked for reservations on night 2, they were very accommodating. One thing we learned was that the hotel is not on a real drivable road and the Uber driver let us out down the street since there is not a clear way to get to the front door. We used the front desk to get transportation back to the airport and they got us a cab that knew how to get to the front door. They also give you a glass of port on arrival, which was a nice surprise and yes, they put cake out nightly at 5PM and espresso is always available. The breakfast was very good, very typical European, however, they have a good selection of cakes and pastries in addition to the meats and cheeses. We loved our stay and would stay again.

Great hotel which was once part of the church of St Francis which is next door, now fully and beautifully modernised but has a kept a lot of the old building features. Our room was spotlessly clean and had all amenities that is needed. Lovely breakfast with plenty of choice. The location is second to none right by the river Doure and restaurants and bars within 50 metres walk. The staff on reception are brilliant especially Isabella who advised us which restaurants and sites to go to.

This is a fantastic hotel. I got it for cheap and didn’t expect much to be honest as I’ve stayed in many city centre hotels in historic cities in Europe, which are normally small and basic. This hotel exceeded all of my expectations! We stayed in room 106, which was on the first floor and overlooked the river. The room was huge, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The staff are fantastic too. The Brekfast was free, and again exceeded expectations. They even had gluten free bread for my partner. Also free coffee and cakes throughout the day. The hotel is located a short walk from the river front and was a fantastic base for exploring the city. The only downside (and this is not picking) is that with the windows open, it’s quite noisy outside with vehicles passing on the cobbled roads - but shut the window and you can’t hear anything. This really is a fantastic hotel in a great location and I will definitely stay here again!

“Lovely hotel”

Lovely hotel in a great location and very helpful reception staff. Breakfast room can get a bit busy but nothing you can’t handle. Coffee, tea, cakes & biscuits on offer all day.
