“Fantastic hotel in the centre of Porto”

Fantastic hotel in the heart of Porto close to the Cathedral and central station. Great vibe, very clean and exceptionally quiet considering where it is located. Most of all the staff are exceptionally professional, welcoming and friendly. We highly recommend it!

Very comfortable hotel, great room, excellent breakfast on garden terrace - outstanding space for city centre location. Enjoyed an evening meal with live acoustic guitarist on same terrace the night before. Unfortunately we did not have time to try the pool on this trip, but we'll certainly be back… more

Very comfortable hotel, great room, excellent breakfast on garden terrace - outstanding space for city centre location. Enjoyed an evening meal with live acoustic guitarist on same terrace the night before. Unfortunately we did not have time to try the pool on this trip, but we'll certainly be back soon. Highly recommended for long or short stay.

I stayed at this hotel for six nights with my 11-year-old daughter at the beginning of July. Pros: * The location is fantastic, with most major sights and many excellent restaurants within walking distance. * The lobby, patio area, and rooms were clean and cosy. The rooms also have very good soundproofing, which made our nights peaceful and quiet. * The buffet breakfast was nice, although €17 per person is on the expensive side. Children under 12 eat for free, which was a big advantage for us. * The heated saltwater pool was pleasant and felt gentler on the skin than a heavily chlorinated pool. * The air conditioning in the room was quiet, effective, and very comfortable during the hot days. * The bedding and pillows were also very comfortable. The staff were polite and helpful, although the service was generally nothing out of the ordinary. Cons: * Our room (319) was extremely small. There was not enough space to leave a suitcase open on the floor, so we had to place it on the bed. There was also very limited wardrobe space and no drawers. For the price, I would have expected more room to move around and better storage. There is a hairdryer and an iron in the room - good advantage. * The pool was smaller than we expected, with only around 20 chairs and sunbeds. These were taken very quickly after the pool opened at 10:00 a.m. Some guests left towels on the beds even when they were no longer at the pool. At times, the pool area became so crowded that it was difficult to swim. * Room cleaning was also quite late, sometimes taking place after 4:00 p.m. On our first day, our room was almost not cleaned at all because the housekeeping team was too busy. We had to contact reception and ask them to at least remove the rubbish and replace the towels. Overall, we had a good and comfortable stay. However, considering the very small room and some of the service issues, the hotel felt slightly overpriced for what we received.

In busy Porto this a oasis of quiet . From an unpretentious frontage the hotel opens up to a garden with swimming pool . We had a superior balcony room (privilege) overlooking the garden that was quiet at night so we slept well . Comfortable bed - excellent shower . The only disapointment was the breakfast - I don't know what was wrong the three days we were there . There was very little fresh sliced fruit - one day there was kiwi fruit ...another a bowl of cherries. The hot offerings , scrambled egg etc looked unappertising and tastless . We had to ask on two mornings for the pastries to be replenished - the weak orange juice even when stirred was poor . We were usually down to breakfast by 8.30-9.00am so items should have been replenished . Didn't look like the photos online . The hotel is an easy downhill walk to the river - you will walk through Rua da Flores where there are a good choice of resaurants . We enjoyed La Salumeria - an Italian restaurant . If you are looking for a quiet central hotel then this hotel is ideal.
