As soon as we stepped foot into the entrance, we we're greeted by Will. Friendly and cannot do enough for us. We had a good vibe straight away and the hotel foyer is small and simple, but had everything you needed, including umbrellas for Porto's very unpredictable weather. The room, we we're on the 2nd floor. Lovely & spacious, the communal area was VERY clean and styled very well. It's a period property, so yes you will hear the odd street noise. The hotel is situated right in the middle of the centre. Room was cleaned daily! The location of the hotel is very convenient. Walkale to all touristy locations, very safe and restaurants and cafe are very close by. The breakfast was great. So many options, including fresh fruit and good choice of cerels and pastries. They also have a Nespresso Professional machine, what more can you ask for. Off the dining area is the outdoor terrace. Would be beautiful to sit out when the sun is shining. We had our breakfast and looked at the view every morning during our stay. Throughout our stay we could fill up our water bottles whenever we wanted. The staff at breakfast was very attentive and informative. The dining area was very clean and spacious. Best boutique hotel we stayed in. Will recommended us local restaurants and cafes to visit and he was sooooo right. Food was amazing. We like to ask locals where they would eat as some tourist reviews are just hyped up. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Porto! Great value for money! Can't wait to go back!

“Enchanting Porto”

The hotel is centrally located. Most of the tourist highlights of the city, are located nearby and one can easily walk to these places. A number of restaurants and shops are located near the hotel. Metro construction work near the hotel is currently underway but that didn't cause us any problems… more

The hotel is centrally located. Most of the tourist highlights of the city, are located nearby and one can easily walk to these places. A number of restaurants and shops are located near the hotel. Metro construction work near the hotel is currently underway but that didn't cause us any problems. Although the hotel is housed in a relatively old building, the room was modern with all functional amenities. The room was neat and clean . The bed was comfortable. An electric kettle wit Tea bags and Coffee satchets was available. The staff were very helpful and courteous. Had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay for 02 nights in the hotel.

“The construction work on the new metro is a big negative for this hotel”

This is a great location on one level and a terrible location on another. It is very central , on top of everything and everywhere you may want to visit. This is a great location on one level and a terrible location on another. It is very central , on top of everything and everywhere you may want to visit. However the construction of a new underground line immediately outside the hotel makes staying here a massive challenge. Constant noise, stationery traffic, sirens, incessant use of car horns. Take plenty of paracetamol. The staff are fantastic, could not have been more helpful, reception staff are great as is Paulo at breakfast. Just such a shame about the construction.

It’s quite difficult to review this hotel as it will seem very negative whilst there are actually some positives. It’s quite difficult to review this hotel as it will seem very negative whilst there are actually some positives. To be fair the hotel do say there is construction work outside due to the new metro being built but what no one could possibly realise is the absolute horrendous noise from it from really early morning. Also at night and early hours of the morning people are screaming/shouting outside making it impossible to get any decent sleep and then the construction workers start with grinders/ diggers which goes on all day. It’s dreadful. The positives are the staff are nice but in a hopeless position, breakfast is reasonable and showers are good as is the location for many interesting sites. Other than that, I would steer clear.
