Absolutely fabulous, everything was superb. A perfect location in Porto Gaia, with wonderful views across the Douro River. The art collection is so impressive with amazing sculptures and statement pieces throughout the Hotel and its grounds. The room was very comfortable and the spa relaxing. We only used the outside pool for a couple of hours due to the weather but it was a great area to relax with a pool bar . Breakfast was varied and catered for all tastes from the buffet to the a la carte choices . Every member of staff was so helpful and polite , we really felt so welcomed and valued as clients of Tivoli. The concierge arranged a Port Wine tasting session with snack pairings for us in the main bar as the downstairs cellars and bar were closed during on our visit, it was so informative . Thank you for your knowledge and expertise , we are now both going to be Port drinkers ! This is the perfect Hotel for a stay on the area don't bother looking elsewhere, you wont find better .

The service is outstanding; every staff member we encountered had this combination of warmth, professionalism and discretion that made our stay memorable. Thanks again to Renato for the great dining tips, and also a special mention to Luis Fonseca and his staff who over several evenings at his bar, shared their knowledge and passion for the Porto wines. This, combined with a fantastic view of Porto across the river, made for an unforgettable experience. We'll be back..

“Fantastic hotel !”

We stayed for 6 nights in a river view room which was very clean and well equipped with robes, slippers and a turn down evening service with chocolates! The staff were incredibly professional and friendly. They couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was wide ranging and very delicious. I tried the eggs royale and eggs benedict however I found these to be served cold so not great! We spent a happy afternoon in the indoor pool with saunas/whirlpools etc. A well equipped gym is also available. The hotel is only a 10minute walk from the Duoro riverbank but you do need to be mobile as there are lots of steps involved. As the hotel is built on the hillside I would say its only suitable for people with adequate mobility, as is the location of Porto and vila nova de gaia.

We can honestly say that this is one of the best Hotels we have ever stayed in (and we travel extensively). The Hotel is in a beautiful location with stunning views of Porto and the Douro river. The decor, art and sculptures all over the hotel & grounds are beautiful. First experience was check in which was done over a complimentary glass of port - all the staff here without exception are so friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size with good quality bedding, shower etc.. and all the amenities we needed. Umbrella, hairdryer, slippers & bathrobes all lovely touches. High cleaning standard with turn down in the evenings. We booked a one hour slot in the spa and enjoyed the hydra therapy pool, sauna and steam room (all spotlessly clean) - again towels, robes and slippers provided along with lockers and all facilities clearly explained. The bars were exceptional - we tried them all but our favourite after dark was the cellar jazz bar - Diogo would create whatever cocktails we wanted with the delicious Kopke port. We had a tour of the private cellars and Carlos made that fascinating and informative Breakfast was an enjoyable experience with a view - a vast range of fruits and bakery items along with eggs cooked to your wishes. Outdoor pool was lovely after a lot of walking in the city. We will surely return and highly recommend this wonderful Hotel.
