As for the title took my first solo holiday abroad and decided to check out Porto from the UK. Dead short notice booked on Sunday arrived Monday. The youropo apartments balhao were so well organised that I didn't need to contact back and forward in a panic to make sure everything was set. They send you message to advise you of anything you need to know. The apartment is located directly across the street from the balhao market which was well worth a visit although alot of shops near by would be cheaper. The apartment is also 5 minutes walk from the metro station who's is a direct shot from the airport. No messing about was simple as. When I arrived the first person that met me at the door ( not the wooden one, the glass one to the left) I believe was Rafaela. (I'm terrible with names) She gave me such a great welcome talked me through any questions I had and helped with any requests I had. Never once did I feel like an imposition. The rest of the team shared the same energy which was great because any time you came back it was like having a catch up with friends asking about your day. The apartment was a perfect size for a single traveller or two that travel fairly light . It was quiet and clean and full of character as it kept the old tiles and flooring and shuttering. All in all can't thank them enough I really enjoyed the whole experience and it made it a trip to remember.

“GREAT PLACE TO STAY”

We stayed in a two bedroom 2 bath unit which was right across the street from the large market in Bolhoa. We also were able to have a car meet us at the airport and take us to the reception area. The staff was extremely helpful. Would definitely recommend.

This hotel was a nice surprise – while we knew it wouldn’t be a traditional hotel, we were delighted to find it had a well-staffed reception area. There were free lockers where we were welcome to store our luggage before check-in and after checkout. The person at the desk when we arrived was very helpful and showed us some recommended sights to see and places to eat. (We also really appreciated the excellent communication with staff via WhatsApp before our arrival.) The location was amazing – right across the street from the Mercado do Bolhão, which is full of stalls selling all kinds of freshly squeezed juice, coffee, fruits and vegetables, cheeses, olives, pastries, flowers, and everything in between. Also super walkable to tons of restaurants and stores, including several supermarkets and mini-markets. Our room was very comfortable and well equipped with a stove, dishwasher, and combo washer-dryer. (If you’ve never used one of these before, do pay attention to the instructions on the back of the cabinet door!) We were in a room on one of the upper floors facing the market, and aside from the bells that chime regularly throughout the day, it was very quiet..
