Vila Gale Porto Ribeira Hotel

“Good experience”

This hotel was welcoming and friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. It's about a 20 minute walk to the main area by the river. Breakfast was a good selection and catered for myself who was gluten free although some items on the lunch menu were limited. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for 3 nights at the start of a cycling holiday. We had a river view room, although the river view was limited as the window was quite high. The room wasn’t large but it was adequate. We stayed for 3 nights at the start of a cycling holiday. We had a river view room, although the river view was limited as the window was quite high. The room wasn’t large but it was adequate. A few extra ouches would have been nice e.g. tissues, body lotion. They are provided so often now i rarely carry them with me. Breakfast was good with a good selection and an omelette man. We ate dinner there on our first night because we had been up very early in the morning. Couldn’t understand why you had to book, not like they were just. Service could have been better….shown to table, no menu forthcoming, had to ask. Food was fine but limited choice. It’s about 15-20 minutes walk from the centre of Porto. Would stay again.staff we are friendly and helpful.

“Welcome to Porto and Portugal”

First stop of my Portugal tour. Room was neat and tidy, staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great also had a meal one night which was enjoyable.

Arrived here for 3 night stay and unfortunately took a tumble on the uneven cobbles outside the hotel on the first afternoon. Arrived here for 3 night stay and unfortunately took a tumble on the uneven cobbles outside the hotel on the first afternoon. The Girls on reception were fantastic looking after me (sorry didn't get their names) It became apparent that a doctor would be needed and again the reception staff sorted it all out for me, I can't thank them enough. I had to spend a night in the local A & E and when I returned the doctor had been called again to attend to another person who had tripped on the cobbles. Obviously not the hotels fault but if you are planning a trip to Porto be extra careful. Back to the hotel, the rooms are clean, spacious and well thought out, and a good selection for breakfast.
