My first Romanian experience was back in 1993 at the then State run clinic Efosan headed by Medic Primer Dr Grose. There i saw first hand the therapeutic results of the mud and lake water working in with a range of other therapies. Buses of medical tourists coming to Eforie Nord for treatment - from France, Belgium, Holland and Greece to name a few. I even met back then a tourist from Egypt who had come solely for the mud. Georgios Xydias from Acadimos Travel, Greece, was bringing medical tourists twice a year for treatment. Coming to Romania twice a year is the best thing of all as your body receives the best nature can offer. Around the time the State clinic closed we saw the timely construction of Hotel Europa. We are most fortunate to have experienced the move to a wonderful new Health Spa and treatment centre. And to a great hotel. You wake up in the morning and watch the sun rise out of the Black Sea. The perfect setting for your morning mindfulness. Every room at Hotel Europa has a view of the sea and the beautifully tended grounds and garden below. No pain, no gain: If you work hard and listen to your kinetotherapy instructor and do your exercises in the pool diligently every day this will give you excellent results coupled with the additional therapies prescribed by the resident doctor. The mud, the salt lake water, the healing hands of physiotherapist Luminitsa, the electrotherapy treatment of Mari and all else. I came to Eforie Nord with a shoulder impingement. I couldn't lift my arm. I had terrible pain in my chest and right down my arm to my fingers. Luminitsa, my therapist, worked on every tendon and muscle in my body. Four weeks later I am pain free. I have my life back. I will come back for sure next year. Before you have an operation on your knees or hips or shoulder, a trip to Romania is a must. It will truly help you. But for the mud and salt water to work give yourself three weeks of treatment.

“Very good value”

The hotel was recently renovated, a notable improvement in the quality of accomodation. The quality of food has increased. Most of the Spa services have increased. The prices have also increased but overall a very good value for money.

“Excellent Experience”

Now, after the renovation, the hotel rooms have become luxurious. The SPA has kept it's very high standard and the restaurant has improved significantly since last year. Overall a superb experience which we will repeat next year (possibly even increase the frequency).
