Overall it was a good stay. The room was very large, comfortable bed, good aircon (that worked in April!), kettle/coffee machine etc all available too. The bathroom, fine overall, just small issue that the shower (although very big) doesn't have a sloped floor, so water just sits in a big puddle for a while. The breakfast area was a little busy (well, very busy if I'm honest) and didn't help that it is a little small and during breakfast (once we managed to get a table) there seemed to only be one person working - and they were clearly kept busy. Options were basic, but acceptable, afterall this is a one night stay kind of hotel anyway being close to the airport (5 min shuttle right). The shuttle bus was easy to organise, around 5 Euros per person each way, and children are (or were when we were there) free. Just need to book it in advance. Staff were friendly and helpful, and no real complaints from me. If I was coming again to Romania, I would consider staying here again for one night if a late/early flight.

Pros: huge and comfortable rooms, great breakfast, nice staff, runway view (if lucky) Cons: value for money (when including the cost of the airport shuttle), does not respond to emails, parking lot view (if unlucky) We stayed at this hotel in the past before our flight out of Bucharest. This time we booked a room to spend a night after our evening arrival. The hotel is obviously meant to be an airport hotel, considering that nothing much of interest exists nearby. This is made even more obvious by the (tasteful) aviation theme which is present everywhere, from reception to the guest rooms. For both out stays we booked a premium room with a king size bed and a sofa bed for our family of four (two adults and two kids). The room was big and well appointed, with plenty of room for the bed, sofa, a desk with the associated chair, a couple of closets, and a refrigerator. In fact the furniture looks positively sparse for the room size. The first time we hit the jackpot and were given a room with a nice view toward runway 08R/26L which is very close to the hotel. The kids spent an inordinate amount of time watching planes taking off and landing up close. The next time we were less fortunate and got a room on the other side, overlooking a not so exciting parking lot. The sleep quality is very good. Both the bed and the sofa are comfortable. There is a lot of noise around (from the runway and also from the busy DN1), but that is well controlled with the windows closed. The breakfast buffet (included in our room rate) is excellent, with plenty of food choices and good coffee. The on-premise staff was polite and helpful. We did enjoy our stay both times. The negative side is about airport access and value for money. In a pinch the hotel is within walking distance from the airport terminal, but that is a 20-25 minute proposition and is definitely not feasible with luggage. At the time of our first stay the hotel provided a free shuttle to and from the airport. We did not use that (we arrived in our rental car that we dropped off just before our flight), but we needed transportation the second time. I emailed the hotel asking for details on such a transportation, but they never responded. Therefore I ended up calling them from the airport. The call started with an explanation that the shuttle needs to be reserved hours in advance, escalated to a three-way call with the driver, and eventually ended with us on our way in the shuttle in less than half an hour. We also discovered that the shuttle is now a paid service, and quite expensive at that. Which brings us to the reason we will very likely not stay at this hotel in the future. The direct competition of this hotel is the Hilton Garden Inn located within easy walking distance of the terminals. Normally the rate for a comparable room at the Hilton is substantially higher, but when the shuttle fare is taken into account that difference becomes negligible (or even negative when one is lucky enough to stumble upon special rates, which in our experience is almost never the case with Accor hotels). Beside, the Hilton people do respond to emails. This is why we ended up staying at the Hilton on our way back and will likely do the same in the future. It is unfortunate since we liked this hotel quite a bit, but we recommend to travelers to do a bit of comparison shopping before booking, taking the whole cost into account.

Booked here for the location close to the airport. Walked to here from airport, an easy flat walk that took 25 mins. I had pre emailed the hotel to enquire on opening hours for their restaurant as I needed a meal on arrival and as we left the airport at 2115 we didn't eat in the airport in the know… more

Booked here for the location close to the airport. Walked to here from airport, an easy flat walk that took 25 mins. I had pre emailed the hotel to enquire on opening hours for their restaurant as I needed a meal on arrival and as we left the airport at 2115 we didn't eat in the airport in the knowledge that the restaurant would still be open, at 2148 I arrived to order to be told the kitchen closes 1/2 hour before the restaurant so there was no food available. We booked in and went up to our room (107) a nice clean quite big room and ideal for our 1 night stay. We found a delivery app for food and ordered and went down to wait noticing the bar closed at 2230hrs so thought we would have a drink after our long journey but at 2215hrs again they close 15 mins early to cash up!! The air con in the room worked but was the other side of the room so wasnt felt in bed so was a hot night. Breakfast was nice and a good spread. ideal for a 1 night stay but don't rely on their facilities to be available.
