I loved this small hotel. It was reasonably priced in a quiet location, but it was only a short walk to Nevsky. The staff was so helpful and friendly. They served a nice continental breakfast at the time you specified each morning. There is an elevator to take to the second floor accomodations. There are only 5 rooms total. Bags can be stored for free on the day of departure, and if a room is free you can even pay for a half day if you have an evening departure. Can't recommend it high enough. The only issue is the smallest rooms don't have a lot of luggage space, so if you have two bags a person you might need one of the larger rooms.

“Tricky to find but well worth it, lovely little hotel.”

luckily we traveled to the hotel by taxi, but he couldn't find it ! He called them and they 'talked us in'. its on the first floor of a very unassuming building with only a small brass plaque on the wall as a clue. There is a tiny elevator. luckily we traveled to the hotel by taxi, but he couldn't find it ! He called them and they 'talked us in'. its on the first floor of a very unassuming building with only a small brass plaque on the wall as a clue. There is a tiny elevator. It's well worth it though as when you enter the hotel itself it's very comfortable and warm. The rooms are all on the one floor, maybe only ten of them. Breakfast is served on a trolley into your room, you choose what you want the night before. They will do your laundry as the have their own machine. We found the location quite good as the main area is only a ten minute walk. Just down the block is a very nice Belgian restaurant, that is well priced and with good food. All the staff speak English and are very friendly. We would stay here again.

Here's the quick hit, 10 being best: cleanliness & comfort=9, location=5, staff friendliness=7, local knowledge=4, overall value=6.5. We had trouble finding this hotel because it was not marked very clearly, just non-descript locked doors on a side street. The room itself was elegant: large bed, clean bathroom, camera in the corner of the ceiling. Breakfast was brought to the room every morning. Our receptionist, Alexandra, spoke decent English and tried to be accommodating. But the receptionists after Alexandra spoke almost no English, which made our trip back to the ferry daunting. Not the best location. At least a15 minute walk to Nevsky, and 45 minutes to the Hermitage.
