“Nice hotel, close to city centre, and good value for the money”

I stayed at Continental in February, travelling alone. The check-in was fast enough, I got room no 16, first floor. Some meters away from the reception. The room was small, with big bed. The window was about two meters up on the wall, so couldn't see any view. Refrigiator, tv, wifi, water boiler (remember to bring tea or coffe). Nice bathroom, shampoo and soap. I got clean towels every day, though this was not necessary. The breakfast was between 7 and 10 in the morning, not impressive, but quite enough for me. I did like the pancaces. Also a thumb up for sweet Anna (I believe was her name). Smiling and polite. It is easy to hear the neighbours, and also the activity in the corridor.

First impression: parking lot. Really need serious reconstruction. From outside hotel looks rather like a barn. Therefore needs a cosmetic lift. Entering. Not bad, very clean, stylish, inviting. First impression: parking lot. Really need serious reconstruction. From outside hotel looks rather like a barn. Therefore needs a cosmetic lift. Entering. Not bad, very clean, stylish, inviting. Front desk clerks are professional and very nice. Beautiful, Versalles look  like staircase that leads you upstairs...Stairs narrowed left to right are making it very hard and uncomfortable to walk upstairs. There is no elevator or railing to carry suitcases upstairs. No personal who could carry it for you. Front desk clerk was nice enough to carry our cases for us. Inside. Room is very clean, nicely furnished. Heater works properly. Nice and toasty in a Winter. Bed sheets crispy clean. Bathroom is very clean. Shower though is tricky to use. No matter how hard you trying water is pouring outside. Shower curtains designed the way that they useless in keeping the water from splashing to the floor. No drinking bottled water in the room. Huge minus! No room service. No laundry on premises either. They send you laundry out to wash, and then received wet clothes drying out "naturally"at the hotel's special room(no dryer is available). Bottom line: if you young and healthy and don't mind carry your cases upstairs using extremely uncomfortable and unfit for the purpose stair case, if you don't mind to run and purchase your water at the store near by, if you never use room service or laundry, if you just want a nice, clean, cute inexpensive place with amazing location, and all you need just to rest and sleep - the hotel is perfect for you. Location is superb! Downtown, right by the Central Park entrance. Prices are adequate and fair enough. Good, delishious , but limited choice breakfast. Three stars: clean, beautiful inside , perfect location, but somewhat disfuncional.

“Some renovation needed despite good intentions of the staff”

Hotel Continental is aging, it is apparent at the first sight and even smell. My first room had leaking air conditioning so the dripping water was waking me up whole night and the carpet was completely wet in the morning. So I got a bigger room for the same price, this time with leaking shower. All… more

Hotel Continental is aging, it is apparent at the first sight and even smell. My first room had leaking air conditioning so the dripping water was waking me up whole night and the carpet was completely wet in the morning. So I got a bigger room for the same price, this time with leaking shower. All in all, there wouldn't be needed much to make the place great again, refreshing the wall painting and changing the dirty carpets would be a good start. The staff was friendly and helpful so the basics are good.

“An antique market right outside my window on Saturday morn, what a lovely surperise!”

Small friendly hotel, close to resturants. and town center. We stayed one night and explored Rostov on Don, a basic breakfast was included and appreciated. friendly staff, the highlight of our stay was Sunday morning market outside my window, all sorts of treasures to explore and buy.
