We just returned home from a week in Nevis staying at the Hamilton Villas. Great 2 bedroom unit with friendly staff and great location. We rented a car and drove and had access to all the great dining and snorkeling opportunities on the island. Make sure to go the Rocks and the Hermitage for dinner!

“Tranquil Resort”

A tranquil resort with direct access to a lovely beach, the one bedroom unit allocated to was enormous and very comfortable and was well fitted out. A tranquil resort with direct access to a lovely beach, the one bedroom unit allocated to was enormous and very comfortable and was well fitted out. We also enjoyed the daily room service it was a treat. The on site restaurant Yachtsman Grill was excellent and the staff were happy and very helpful. Bearfoot restaurant a short walk along the beach was also excellent and offered an alternative menu.

This is a resort that has a mix of good and developmental feedback. For people who are accustomed to resort vacations, here are things you need to know. Good/Great: Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Our 1-bedroom villa is roomy and has 2 bathrooms and laundry in unit. The hotel will give you laundry detergent if you ask free of charge. They provide soap, shampoo and conditioner. There is daily cleaning service where they sweep your room and refresh towels and make your bed. The staff are courteous and helpful when you have questions. The beach is very clean and pristine with ample chairs and umbrellas. The water is very calm and safe for families with children. There was no debris or seaweed; it was really clean and can see your feet while in the water. Issues: The TV and Wi-Fi are very spotty and have trouble watching TV after 30 minutes or more; have had to have a tech come to our room 2X yet issue persisted. There are no hair blow dryers in the unit; pack your own or ask at front desk for one to borrow. While the hotel has the Yachtman's Club restaurant on property, it is not part of the Hamilton. You cannot go to the restaurant without credit card or cash; cannot charge anything to your room as they are two separate entities. At the beach, there are no activities or lifeguards. They do not have options to rent snorkels or kayaks or wave runners, etc. You have to be independent and coordinate your own trips to get around the island or hire a taxi driver to give you tours. There is a bus system (mainly van service) where it costs about $2.00 PP to go into town or the popular beaches). You have to get to the main road and flag one down as they have green license plates that start with the letter "H". Otherwise, the cab drivers charge a minimum of $15.00 per trip to take you anywhere. My suggestion would be to rent a car if possible. There are 2 pools around the resort. The pools were mainly unused because they are not configured with places to lounge. Our pool had 5 chairs in the shallow part of the pool; no other chairs for guests. If you want peace & quiet and a place to read and be left alone, this is the right place for you. If you want to socialize and have a more active experience, you may want to rethink coming here. We were treated well and the staff have been quite friendly. Hope this review helps future guests based on what you look for when planning a stay in Nevis.

We enjoyed the week at the Hamilton Beach Villas. We had a two bed/two bath unit with no view (parking lot and tops of trees). The unit was well equipped. We cooked and did laundry. I emailed the front desk and they helped us arrange taxi, boat, taxi round trip from the airport on St. Kitts. As expected, the pools were underwhelming. There are no chairs near the "lap" pool so you swim and get out. A lot of debris from the vegetations and trees is floating in the pool so it's not welcoming place to spend a lot of time. We had massages at the Hamilton prebooked, but when we arrived at the appointed day and time, there was no one there. It's not really a spa. It's more like little worn down individual buildings so I was actually fine that it didn't work out. If I ever return, I'd book a spa appointment at the Four Seasons down the road. The best thing about the Hamilton is the location. In late May it was not busy and we were often two of six or eight people on the beach. There are plenty of loungers with umbrellas. The sea is calm, clear, and lovely. We also had several excellent meals at the Yachtman's Grill (closed on Tuesdays). Shoutout to Hazel at the restaurant. It was nice to have somewhere close to eat and drink. We stocked up on food at Ram's grocery store and planned several activities ahead of time with local tour companies.
