The Cortisen am See hotel is without a doubt the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in. I’ve stayed in larger, more luxurious hotels, but this one is small, intimate, and quiet, with its own small private beach. Every single corner is uniquely designed, leaving you standing there in awe of the designer's genius. On top of that, the owner is incredibly nice and welcoming. He gave us wonderful recommendations for beautiful trips in the area and attended to every question or need. The room is stunningly beautiful, facing a breathtaking view. Everything is spotless, comfortable, and user-friendly. The breakfast was wonderful. I highly recommend it!

“Stunning view from our balcony”

Gorgeous view of the mountains and lake from our balcony! The breakfast in the morning was excellent also with amazing views and walk included freshly squeezed juice. Service was excellent!

This was my fourth time at Cortisen am See, and it truly feels like coming home. I love the atmosphere here, and the hotel is beautiful, stylish, and very comfortable. The service is warm, kind, and genuine — the team really cares, and you can feel it in every detail. The food is amazing, and the facilities are wonderful. The sauna by the lake is something very special, and the pool is so relaxing that you just want to stay there all day. The rooms are always very clean, cozy, and elegant, and the view is simply breathtaking. Also the location is really convenient being close of everything and just by by the lake I highly recommend Cortisen am See to anyone visiting Wolfgang. Thank you to everyone for making me feel so welcome during these five unforgettable days.

I am also surprised at the five star reviews. Both my husband and I have traveled extensively over the last 20 years. Both for business and pleasure and although we are based in the US there have been international trips along the way...so we are not unrealistic Americans who expect everything to be like home. We stopped here for two nights in the middle of our almost three week vacation in the area. We did have a Lakeview room and the view was lovely. We went in May and the temps were in the 60s so we didn't swim or anything. Maybe the atmosphere would have been better in the summer ? Because it was just sleepy and pretty boring. No one was outside. ..the hotel decor..was funky and fun and might have been nice to enjoy the ambiance. ...if anything was open past 9. The lounges looked fabulous but they were deserted and dead quiet. No background music. The restaurant was supposed to stay open til 9:30 and there was a lovely lobby bar. However we walked in at 9:10 after dinner wanting to get a capacinno or a nightcap and everything was locked up and closed and the staff was gone . I cannot imagine staying here in the summer. The room was either too warm or if we left the patio door open too chilly. I understand no AC on a lake hotel. But I don't understand no fans in the room or ceiling fans. It has to be miserable in July and August. The room was small. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable. The worst of the trip so far. The pillows were thin and not enough of them. I had packed a camping pillow to slip underneath thin pillows and even they didn't cut it. Two nights was more than enough. My back. Neck and shoulders were so sore I couldn't wait to move on to the next hotel. The breakfast was very average and no different than any other yogurt, roll, plate of ham and cheese experience than other places we stayed. Loved, loved St Wolfgang and want to come back some day but I wouldn't choose this hotel again.
