We were particularly impressed with the lovely, professional, warm and accommodating staff across the hotel’s facilities who treated my elderly father with the care one would expect from family. The complimentary breakfast in the morning is the best I’ve ever had in a hotel—complimentary or not—with an array of hot foods, baked goods, fresh fruits and even pancakes, waffles and eggs made to order. It even included local Senegalese fare! The rooms are thoughtfully designed and kept clean as a whistle. I very much appreciated that the bar in the rooms was also complimentary. The hotel is at a great location on the corniche, with a beautiful view of Ile de Madeleine and making it easy to get to and from a variety of locations across the city. I could go on and on about the positive aspects. Perhaps the only thing that could have been better for me and my family would have been a few more vegan and vegetarian options at the hotels’ restaurants. I was also hoping that we would experience live music at La Terrasse, one of the hotel’s restaurants where I’ve seen live music before, but there wasn’t much advertising/communication about anything programmed. These are my only two critical points, however. As someone who travels frequently to Senegal and has stayed at many hotels in Dakar, I will be staying more regularly at Terrou Bi because the service, facilities and location are well worth the money.
