“Senegalese food done right”

This is a great little Resturant that has great food and great atmosphere. You won't have to worry about the food being prepared properly so "bon appetite". The brochette de Boeuf is one of my favorite dishes. Enjoy

After reading reviews on TripAdvisor, I have to admit I did not have great expectations for this hotel. But it was being offered by my tour organizer, I don't demand or require luxury, and it was only for a single night. The first room I was shown was upstairs on the second floor and faced the noisy street. I noticed that there were internal facing the swimming pool and tropical garden, so I thought it might not hurt to ask if one of those rooms might be available to me. The very friendly guy at the front desk was reluctant to give me a downstairs room facing the garden because it was very much smaller than the upstairs room. But he let me look and decide for myself. Soooooo much nicer. It seems that there are two different qualities of room in this hotel. The room upstairs was large but spartan. The room downstairs was small and cozy, but nicely decorated with interesting art on the walls and even had fresh flowers decorating the bed. I was happy. (Room 76, I think) The hotel is not located directly on the beach, but is just a short walk away. The village square is also just a short walk from the hotel and there are plenty of nice eating options nearby for lunch/dinner. The hotel is spotlessly clean (rooms/garden/pool) and the staff is super friendly (especially the young man who was on evening shift). I would have no hesitation at all in spending more time in this hotel or recommending it to others. Just don't forget to ask for a nicer room facing the garden/pool area. Downside: breakfast. Very simple buffet: breat, butter, jam, meat and cheese slices and FLIES! Actually, flies are everywhere in great abundance in Senegal during the rainy season. I realize it wasn't just here in the hotel, but really some effort should be made to keep the massive swarms away from the food and dining area.....

We got here to see a friend and we had no lodge. We saw a good hotel we wanted to spend the night in, but we could not find it. This one was on the main road, close to the night live, so, what the heck, we just walked in and asked for a room. As usual, they were having a 'temporary problem' with the Internet so wi-fi was only available around the reception and restaurant. We were so tired that we had a bath in the swimming pool and went to sleep. Early in the morning a I went to the restaurant to send a couple of emails while having a coffee. Breakfast is not really great for the price you are being charged --BAR for a walk-in was around EUR 60 per night, but, well, facilities were clean and staff friendly. I would not repeat though.

I spent no longer than a couple of nights and got more than I expected for the very low price. It was as simple as it gets, though with the a/c in the rooms. The bathroom and the bed were decent, which is critical for me and there was little else. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The location is great - walking distance to almost everything in Saly and very central. Breakfast was not included but there are nice places around to grab a bite. They have a solid evening buffet for some extra $$ with entertainment (at least when I was there), all very tourist-geared. The outdoors is nice with the swimming pool and the bar area. If you're not expecting or demanding much, this is truly a great Saly option for a weekend. I don't think I would want to stay much longer than that for all the simplicity (and the lack of things to do in Saly).
