Really nice hotel, good location, very nice service. Loved the breakfast. Room is tastefully decorated and has decent size. A real 5-star hotel

I transferred to this hotel after a disappointing few nights at another hotel. The gentleman at the check in desk was most helpful. He was efficient, helpful, understanding and accommodating. I have stayed at this hotel many times when it was the Intercontinental. I overloooked staying at it initially as it is now part of the Marriot Bonvoy family. On entering my room I immediatley felt at home - in contrast to the hotel I had spent my first few nights in.

“Parking woes dampen an otherwise faultless staycay; gastronomic excellence in the restaurant and lounge”

We thoroughly enjoyed our staycation from 10-12 June and hope the parking arrangement would improve soon so that we'd return again. While the rooms while relatively well maintained, they are starting to show their age. There was peeling wallpaper inside the wainscotted designs, and many pocket sockets are due for replacement (our chargers cannot be fully plugged in as depicted in the photos). The room toilets would welcome a more urgent refurbishment, as the shower cubicle is quite under sized. Furthermore, signs/directions to the executive lounge are non existent, both in the lifts and along level 2. Simple signs pasted along the walls, or a few standees would help alot (we wandered through the ballrooms and didn't expect it to be located past man fu yuan). We were grateful for the complimentary upgrade to a junior suite (Rm 505), although the view from level 5 was overlooking the top of Bugis Junction. Bonvoy members who are Platinum elite and above would likely opt for Frasers House because of the complimentary buffet breakfast benefit at the restaurant, whereas the JW South Beach limits breakfast to a miserable spread at their lounge. The executive lounge was intricately beautiful and is huge considering how few rooms the hotel has. We also appreciated that kids are welcome (unlike Marriott Tang for example). We thoroughly enjoyed the excellent and delicious spread at the evening cocktail; though interestingly the food quality had a remarkable improvement on the 2nd night. The kids amenities were really unique, being a blank canvas pencil case that the kids could draw on. Perhaps a cup of colour pencils and a selection of colouring sheets could be provided at the lounge as well? The buffet breakfast was likewise excellent in terms of spread and taste. We'd rate it on par with W Sentosa's, which is our joint favourite (with St Regis SG which we last visited 5 years ago). A suggestion however would be to alternate the soup to something other than laksa, and to upgrade the ice cream supplier as it tasted cheap/low quality. The pastries also weren't the freshest as they were slightly "lao hong" around 9+10am. Mr Harry was ever so friendly and cheerful; the kids and us enjoyed his company thoroughly at the lounge. The bellmen were all so very friendly and welcoming as well. Our family appreciated the positive, hospital and cheery atmosphere of the staff. When this property was still the flagship Intercontinental, there was a complimentary/discounted parking arrangement with Bugis Junction. Unfortunately, the "valet" parking at $25++/day is a scary provision, because no reservations are allowed and one could potentially drive down only to find out there are no more lots available. The parking situation unfortunately stops us short of making Frasers House our default staycation location. Maybe an arrangement could be made for parking to be done at the nearby sister property - JW South Beach, or for elite members to reserve a parking spot? I echo and agree with other reviewers that the Byredo range of bathroom amenities is a huge turn off. I felt that it was the most cheap and artificial smelling amongst the 50 or so hotels I have visited. I got a shock when the Mrs told me how much each bottle retails for. I urge the hotel leadership to consider other options, since at this price point the hotel might as well provide Aesop. Or even better support a local brand like the excellent (and much more economical) Pine and Co. P.s. If you require a bidet, one can be provided in the toilet upon request.
