Habyt Clarke Quay was previously known as Champion Hotel City. I had a long layover in Singapore and wanted clean and affordable accommodation. This hotel turned out to be the best choice for both its rooms and location. It is situated right on Clarke Quay, which is the social epicenter of Singapore and filled with restaurants, bars, and scenic views. The front desk staff only work from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., so I was glad to arrive during those hours and meet the gentleman who checked me in. He was welcoming and made sure my stay was enjoyable. If you arrive after 7 p.m., they have a self-check-in system in place, which is convenient and easy to use. The rooms are great. They are absolutely clean, and the air conditioning unit worked perfectly for my needs. I also appreciated how the room made smart use of space. Mine had a small fridge and a nice view of the city skyline. The bed was comfortable, and everything was organized to give you a relaxing and efficient stay. Singapore can be a very expensive place, but this hotel gets everything right when it comes to offering value and comfort. I am really glad I chose Habyt Clarke Quay and will definitely consider staying here again on my next trip.

I’m rating this hotel a 4/5 with all information known. If you are not looking for a budget-friendly, excellent-location option and instead want comfort, space, and amenities, this will likely not be a 4 or 5-star experience for you. However, compared to the price of other hotels in the area, this place was a steal for exactly what I needed it for. The hotel’s location is excellent. There are restaurants in every direction, most attractions are within walking distance, and the area feels safe. It’s very close to Chinatown and Clarke Quay, with plenty of great food options and pubs nearby. The staff were extremely pleasant and easy to deal with, which made the stay more enjoyable. My room was clean and tidy, but it’s worth noting that some rooms do not have windows. These rooms feel quite small—similar to a dorm room—but they are fully self-contained with a private bathroom, TV, coffee maker, hair dryer, and toiletries. Housekeeping is provided every 2–3 days rather than daily. Because the single room I stayed in was very small, the bed was raised high to allow luggage storage underneath, which is practical but may not be ideal for everyone. This could be a concern for guests with mobility issues. The small room size and lack of windows may also be uncomfortable for anyone who dislikes compact or enclosed spaces. There was noticeable noise during the day around 2 PM on both days of my stay. I’m not sure what was causing it. It wasn’t a major issue, but since I landed early in the morning and was hoping for a nap after check-in, it was unexpected. The front desk is only open from 10 AM to 7 PM, so if you’re arriving outside those hours, be sure to arrange access in advance. The hotel uses a keyless entry system. There’s a small seating area in the main lobby and a designated smoking area on the 5th floor. The air-conditioning unit is positioned directly above the bed, so finding a comfortable temperature took some trial and error, and the AC noise is noticeable when running. Overall, this hotel is ideal for a solo traveler who values location and price over space and frills. It works well for a short stay of 2–3 days, but it’s probably not ideal if you plan to spend a lot of time in your room. That said, my experience was with a smaller room without a window—larger rooms with windows may feel more comfortable and be better suited for longer stays. The nearest MRT station is about a 10-minute walk away. Getting to the airport takes roughly 60 minutes by MRT or about 20 minutes by car. A solid option if value and location are your priorities.

(1) Only can find 3 UK-type sockets in the room (and one cannot work). Guest shall better take guest-own adapter. (2) easy to hear the sound of AC. (3) hotel kettle is leak-prone. (4) The bed is high but without protection. (5) Need to walk for 10 min to the nearest MRT station.
