Good and convenient location on New Bridge Rd. just opposite Clark Quay Stn. (and also the Clark Quay Central Mall). Just 190m away from Legendary Bak Kut Teh which is famous among celebrities. The room was small but comfortable. We booked a room with breakfast option, the breakfast venue was at another location on Carpenter St. (150m walk). The food option was decent enough for starting a day (especially if one is looking forward to Singapore's street food). The staff at the hotel were nice and friendly, the room was cleaned and drinking water was refilled on a daily basis. Judy and her team took good care of us, she took us for a nice dinner and offered recommendations of delicious food stalls around the area. We got the flight + hotel bundle deal for this booking which was great value for the money and would definitely consider staying here again in our next visit.

Is this a luxury hotel? No. Are you going to be blown away by the amount amenities? Again, no. It is, however, centrally located making many of the popular tourist spots like the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Merlion Park, and the Super Trees are all a relatively easy walk. Across the street is an easy access mall in case you need to pick up creature comforts or grab lunch or dinner. The room comes with basic toothbrush and shower cap packs and a TV with a few channels, but if you have your phone or an iPad with you, you will most likely rely on those. The walls are pretty thin, so if you have a noisy neighbor, you may have to ask the front desk to help you maintain quiet. The room is quite small, and the outlets were a little fussy when it came to connecting my adapter, but it all worked out. The shower and toilet are sandwiched into the same space, so bathroom friendly slippers are a must. The cost is affordable considering how much the big name hotels in the area are, so if you’re on a budget and don’t want a capsule hotel, this is a great place to stay.

Due to a visa “scam” issue for Vietnam, I had, had to reroute into Singapore - during Chinese new year and everywhere was ridiculously expensive. I had stayed in Singapore once before when I was younger, wealthier and coupled (& happy) in a plush Clark Quay hotel so this was a very different experience. I had a tiny, cramped room on the top floor - which had a wet room somehow jammed into it too - but the whole room just felt a bit depressing. What did make my hotel stay for 2 nights was Clara & Michelle on reception. I don’t know if they sensed a sad, lonely traveller walking in the shadows of their own past but their cheerfulness and kindness made my stay in Singapore a lot better for me. I hope the owner reads this and sees what precious gemstones he has as ambassadors for his hotel. Thank you Ladies.
