I attended business including a conference nearby and this was my first stay at this property. I typically love Marriott brands but I did not get this one. The place aspires to be hip but is just plain strange and too dark in places. I just did not get the vibe. The room is nice but a bit tight (as can be seen by the ridiculous office chair, or was it supposed to be a rocking chair). In any case, I just neither fit me nor was it comfortable to conduct any work in. The bed is reasonably comfortable although I found the pillows far too soft. Luckily I asked at the reception and was pointed to a firmer one which was stored in the closet. At least one night with a somewhat better sleep. The bathroom is quite nice and well equipped (bathtub and shower). The breakfast place across from the entrance is nice with a good spread although I could not get a coffee service upon first request on any of the days of my visit. The lounge is quite big; service was friendly although the spread was a bit too seafood heavy for my taste.

I picked this property for a short trip to Singapore, mainly for the location, and also as a BonVoy member. Location is fantastic, within walking distance (mind the heat however) to the Marina Bay boardwalk areas, the Raffles complex and shopping area, connection to the Esplanade MRT station, shopping malls, and connected via walkways/mall to Suntec city and another close MRT station, and walking distance to others. First impressions of the hotel-a lovely complex with multiple restaurants and other shopping as described. Bellmen of course await the car drop off to whisk your bags to the lobby for you. The lobby, while not a showstopper, is nice, and functional, luxury scent pumped in, elevators fast and easy to find. Front desk staff are all exceptionally friendly and charming. My final day after my friend had left I asked them if they could move me to a king room and they were very helpful and arranged it without issue, albeit I had to wait until slightly after 4 pm for it to be available but I was grateful. My friend decided to join me on the trip so I had to book a twin room-this is my main complaint. The beds are single beds, as in not twin or double but literally single beds which are too small for grown adults. I felt like I was going to fall out of bed each night and honestly I didn't sleep well because of it, until my final night in the wonderful King room. The room otherwise was nicely appointed and clean. Tons of closet space, working outlets and tv, a mini fridge. The bathroom lighting could have been brighter but I am nit picking. Housekeeping provided both daily cleaning and turn down service and were so nice to knock on the door each evening to ask if we wanted anything for our comfort in the evening. In terms of hotel amenities there is a nice pool on the 18th floor-would be nice if there were lounge chairs and be forewarned it is not situated for sunbathing but it is cool and refreshing nonetheless. I did not get a chance to use the gym but I will do so next time. Also went to the Tonic bar on the ground floor which was quite nice. I did not use the lounge this time but once I regain my platinum status next year I will use it on my next stay. Overall, a fantastic stay and a special shout out to the staff who were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. Well done JW!
