Location: 5/5 Located on Funan Mall which offers a lot of activities. It has also grocery and food hall in the building. Very convenient for train, bus, and taxi! Stones throw away from Fort Canning. Atmosphere: 5/5 Suited for working while travelling but I'd say the place is still kid-friendly. In the common areas, it has a lot of table with working power source. It also has an entertainment room and pool if you don't feel like leaving the hotel. Room: 4.5/5 Room is a bit tiny but they made sure you have a lot of workable space. We got the deluxe room but me, my husband, and our daughter can sleep comfortably. It is a bit tight when you're packing again after all the shopping. Value: 5/5 You get your money's worth. Cleanliness: 4/5 Squeky clean! However since they are trying to be sustainable, we only got 1 free house keeping. If you want additional, you pay extra. They won't clean your room on succeeding days but they will provide what you need, even the trash bag. This policy might be a bit tricky for long stays. Noise level: 3.5/5 Near the fire station so you get random siren sounds even in the wee of hours. It was a bit disturbing at first but when I realized I am really close to Children's museum, Fort Canning, Tiong Bahru bakery by the hill, it became somehow tolerable.

I stayed here for 4 nights mainly because the location is superb and the price is low. However was surprised that the room was wuite large and they are innovative about space. They serve breakfast to guests who sign up on the memberportal (which is free). The rooms are cleaned once a week though they change towels and remove waste every 3 days. Good wifi connection. Carry a body lotion and tea/coffee as there is only a kettle and mugs given in the room. They do have a safe and hair dryer provided. I believe there is a community kitchen which I did not try out. Self service laundry is near the reception. Drinking water and iron board available on each floor. They provide a jug in the room. Will definitely come back. By the way wonderful view from each window. 2 suggestions to management. 1) It is difficult to reach the window to pull down shades as we do not want to trample on the bed. Please try to bring the strings towards the end of the bed. 2) The glass partition in the bathroom needs to be wider as the floor mats get wet every time you shower.

I was travelling from NZ to the UK and broke my journey in Singapore for a couple of nights. The hotel was recommended to me by a friend, who had stayed for similar reasons last year. It may have been because I was jet-lagged, and it was late at night, but I struggled to find the entrance. The lift to the hotel was clearly marked at street level, but it seemed to me that there was little signage once you reached the correct floor and I ended up wandering around the mall before I could find the way in. I did look more thoroughly the following morning, but I still think the signage could be made more prominent. I'm happy to say that nobody seemed surprised that I'd arrived approx three hours later than I'd originally indicated and so check-in was easy enough. The corridor décor outside the rooms is somewhat eclectic and in my brain dead state, I was a little concerned about the scissor barrier apparently half across my door! I worked it out in the end though and, when I had more brain power the following day, could appreciate the quirkiness. The room was fairly basic, although spotlessly clean, but in my view had a couple of design faults. I think it's a rather dim idea to have to climb onto the bed to close the blinds, but there is no way to reach the closure cord unless you do so. Equally, I found that, no matter how careful I was, the shower still soaked the rest of the bathroom and I was in a constant state of concern that the water would creep out into the room itself. However, my greatest ire was reserved for the ridiculous wooden shelf around the bed, which regularly removed slices of skin from my shins - particularly following middle-of-the-night bathroom visits. Perhaps it isn't a problem if you are 20 years old, but I am most certainly not, and it therefore most certainly was. Other than that, I'm happy to report that the air-conditioning worked very well and there was very little noise, either from traffic outside, or from other guests. The staff were all perfectly polite and attentive, it's relatively easy to reach all the main tourist areas from there and the local dining options are manifold. I didn't avail myself of the breakfast, although it looked appetising on the couple of occasions I passed through the dining room during service. I didn't really understand the requirement to become a member of some club-or-the-other before I could order breakfast, however, and I found it a little unusual that being a guest didn't bring automatic membership of said club. I see no reason to join anything like that when my stay is only two nights. All in all, I wasn't dissatisfied with my stay and the facilities on offer, but I expected slightly more 'perks' when the cost of the stay is factored in. Having said all that, I would certainly consider staying again the next time I'm in Singapore. I will, however, remember to take shin protectors with me!
