“A Once in A Lifetime experience.....”

It is not a hotel. It is - at least for us - an lifetime experience. Before checking it at the Raffles, we had 12 nigths at Langkawi Islands. beautiful place, nice hotel, excellent food. For these 12 nights we payed less than for our "1-night-stand" at the Raffles. But it was worth every single... more

It is not a hotel. It is - at least for us - an lifetime experience. Before checking it at the Raffles, we had 12 nigths at Langkawi Islands. beautiful place, nice hotel, excellent food. For these 12 nights we payed less than for our "1-night-stand" at the Raffles. But it was worth every single cent. In the middle of a more than modern town you can enjoy a breath of the past. But it is not like a museum, because it is a relativly open space and not a strictly gated community. Staff is friendly, far away from stiff and more than helpful. And everybody we met was obviously proud of working at this place. We are very glad for this experience, even if we are not sure if we can manage to repead it. But anyway, when we will be in Singapore next March, we will definetly try to have a Singapore Sling in the garden of the Raffles....

It’s not often that I write an online review, but after my recent two-night stay at Raffles, I feel compelled to :-) I have dreamt of staying at Raffles Hotel Singapore for many years, and my recent stay really was a dream come true. I was ecstatic that my room was upgraded to the next category - it was luxurious and spacious, with a complimentary mini bar, chocolates on arrival, an enormous bathroom and insanely comfortable pillows :-) My butler was wonderful, and after explaining the room features to me, took me on a tour of the hotel’s facilities, which finished at the Courtyard Bar where I had my first of many delicious Singapore Slings of my stay! :-) I wanted to experience everything that Raffles had to offer; my massage and facial were pure luxury, the high tea incredible, and throwing the peanut shells on the ground at Long Bar super fun! The Writers Bar was my favourite, where I could perch at the bar and speak to the wonderful bar staff and other guests. Raffles isn’t just a hotel; it’s the destination. I’ve stayed at many 5-star hotels, but none like this. Despite the high (but fair - it’s worth every cent) price point, there is no pretentiousness to be found at Raffles. The staff all have a genuine love for their jobs. Their friendliness is real and they magically seem to know all guests’ names :-) Their attention to detail and personalised dedication to going above and beyond is what makes this hotel truly special. I am already planning my next trip - thank you for the most spectacular memories that I will never forget :-)

“Nice slings”

Took me a while to find here, due to the fact I turned up at the rear of the hotel instead of the front, but there again that pretty much sums me up. After several directions, I found the famous bar. Took me a while to find here, due to the fact I turned up at the rear of the hotel instead of the front, but there again that pretty much sums me up. After several directions, I found the famous bar. I was shown to the bar or table if I prefered straight away.. I took the bar, being on my own, I wanted to mix and chat to people. Service behind the bar was excellent, extremely friendly and quick serice. Had two slings and a cocktail. Threw my peanut shells on the floor as you do and enjoyed everything. Only reason 1 star removed was, ladly next to me asked me to pass her some coasters from where I was sitting. I did so and a waspy waitress told me off and said I had to ask for them. That would be fine if it had been for me, but I only passed them to the women next to me. Think the waitress soon realised what had happened and gave me two coasters and smiled!....Weired.
