A lovely, modern hotel in a great position in the city centre, a 15 minute walk from the bus station. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is excellent in terms of both quality and variety. Room 335 needs a bit of a redesign for 2 reasons: 1. The safe is mounted too low and I banged my head as I unpacked my suitcase, the place for which is directly below the safe. There's a risk of serious injury with the shelf's current position. 2. The shower door reaches to the floor which means there isn't space for the shower mat. The bedroom floor gets wet after every shower which isn't healthy for the lovely wooden floor. I'm sure a good designer could iron out these little niggles and I'd definitely want to stay here again if I visit Ljubljana.

My wife and I spent three delightful days in Ljubljana, using the city as a base to explore its sights as well as nearby attractions such as the Postojna caves and Lake Bled. We travelled everywhere by public transport, which was simple and enjoyable. Location The Occidental Hotel Ljubljana is exceptionally well located. It’s an easy 15–20 minute walk from the main transport hub — both the train and bus stations — and only a short stroll from the river and a wide choice of restaurants and cafés. For convenience and access, the location could not be better. Check‑in & Service Check‑in was swift and welcoming. We were greeted warmly by Komal, who made an excellent first impression, and later by Daniel, who was equally kind and attentive. All staff we encountered, including those in the restaurant, were consistently polite, friendly, and professional. The hotel feels well‑run, well‑maintained, and modern both inside and out. Room We stayed in a Superior Atrium Room overlooking the inner courtyard. The room was modern, clean, and thoughtfully laid out, with excellent air‑conditioning and electronic controls, good lighting, a comfortable twin bed, a separate toilet, and a stylish shower room. Tea‑making facilities, a fridge, and plenty of hot water were all provided. A couple of small observations: - The floor could have been vacuumed more thoroughly during our stay, as some dust remained visible. - The wash basin drained slowly. These were minor issues and did not detract from the overall comfort and quality of the room. Breakfast Breakfast was varied and well organised, with separate stations for hot food, cold items, bread, fruit, cheeses, and more. Everything was well stocked and nicely presented. My only personal gripe was the coffee machines, which didn’t dispense hot coffee to my liking. I later discovered a filter coffee jug, which was better. Additionally, some of the hot food — particularly vegetables and eggs — was not hot and felt more lukewarm or cold, which I didn’t enjoy. Apart from that, breakfast was complete, plentiful, and satisfactory. Overall Occidental Hotel Ljubljana is a modern, clean, and extremely convenient hotel with excellent staff and comfortable rooms. Despite a few small observations, our stay was thoroughly enjoyable, and the hotel contributed positively to our visit to Ljubljana.

The rooms are very small but perfectly efficient. I was worried about the room size but found myself comfortable thanks to the thought that wanting in planning and the layout of the room. Just opened after a renovation, everything was very clean and nice. The staff was very helpful and warm, which I appreciated. The location is excellent for a tourists or anyone who wants to be in the pedestrian center of the city.
