“Excellent”

This is a lovely small hotel with big rooms having all the luxuries you need. Due to the small size the hotel has a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff were very attentive.

I'm the manager of a successful online Talk show and we felt that the Hamilton offered us one of the best experiences to date. The service from staff was on point and the rooms are to die for. It really creates a home like feel where you feel you have more space to relax and unwine.

I was recommended this hotel on the basis it was a little different to the standard Sandton chain-fare - and that recommendation turned out to be spot on. Of course it isn't comparing like-for-like - but if you want a cosy friendly 6 room hotel where you are important, rather than just a number - this is the place. Easy to find, and well sign-posted in the locality, the street feels safe, but there is also very good security. Lovely well-appointed room, with a particularly comfortable bed. Some reviews mentioned traffic noise - yes, there is some, but no, it isn't a problem. This is very good value, and the service in the evening - a personally cooked fillet steak with mash and vegetables, and some beautiful red wine, was splendid. I will definitely be back.

Unfortunately the Hamilton did not live up to our expectations. The primary reason is the design of the bathroom which is effectively open plan - no privacy at all if there are 2 staying in the room. Unfortunately the Hamilton did not live up to our expectations. The primary reason is the design of the bathroom which is effectively open plan - no privacy at all if there are 2 staying in the room. The shower floor was extremely slippery, and when showering the basin area gets wet. So once showered you cannot get to the basin without getting wet feet, and the only mirror in the room is above the basin - no shelf or anything to rest a make up bag while looking in the mirror. There is also quite a lot of road noise - choose a non road-facing room. Breakfast area was great. Pool needed maintenance. The bathroom (alone) and lack of available mirror (could put one inside cupboard door?) would prevent me from returning.
