We stayed here for 4 nights as part of a group. Steven and staff made sure our stay was fabulous, food incredible and so much! Our guides Solomon and Simon went above and beyond on our safari's. Cannot speak highly enough of them all.

We stayed a Camp Shawu. Stephen, Harriet and the entire staff were warm, friendly and accommodating! Food was brilliant (and too much!). We were always greeted by the staff with hot towels on return from each drive. Our guides Simon and Solomon were outstanding and worked so herd to find all of the interesting wildlife! They were so skilled at handling the roads through the park and knowledgeable about everything we asked. There are only 5 guest cabins at the Camp and each one as roomy and accommodating. Bath ant toilet en suite and an outdoor private shower. Each night we were serenaded by the hippos just outside of our cabin who will be there until the water hole dries in a couple of weeks from now. The wildlife visiting the water hole was amazing and it seemed like they took turns by animal type! We left there feeling like we were leaving family and all will be sorely missed!!

Wow what an amazing experience at Camp Shawu, such an incredible setting, right on the dam, with animals coming throughout the day. The staff are absolutely amazing, I have stayed at many lodges and the service is one of the best I’ve had . Steven ( the manager) went out of his way to welcome us and help us and make us feel at home. Our guide Sifiso was one of the best we’ve had, he was extremely knowledgeable and found some great sitings! Cons: The lodge is a little bit tired and in need of some maintenance. With a bit of work done it would bring its rating up to a 5. The biggest problem was the food , breakfast and lunch was great , but dinners weren’t the best , it could do with a revamp. Overall , we would highly recommend this lodge and we will definitely return :)

We were recently lucky enough to spend 4 nights at Camp Shonga. While the camp itself is a little dated and in need of some maintenance our stay was unforgettable due to the staff and a bed that you would die for. From our welcome cocktails., to being greeted with warm face towels after each safari Patience and Sarah catered to our every need. Their sole focus was on our comfort and happiness, while Mulala our Chef ensured that we were never hungry, food was more than plentiful, varied and well prepared. Our safari guide Texon was exceptional in his knowledge of the Park and expertise in all aspects of safari. We did 7 safaris in total and Tex made each one feel unique, finding the Big Five within our few days while also seeing an abundance of other animals such as Hyena, Jackals, Impalas, Wilderbeast, Hippos and many others. Our “Sundowner” drinks and snacks were a highlight seeing the magnificent South African sunset from a different location each night. If asked, given the opportunity, would we do it again, the answer would be yes definitely and we would not change a thing. Michael and Janelle
