“Great place to stay”

I was there with my wife looking to experience and explore the Kruger Park area, Turaco location is perfect for that, plus the accommodation, swimming pools, food and staff are absolutely amazing. Can’t wait to go back

In early October 2025, we spent 12 days at Turaco Lodge and returned absolutely delighted. Both the travel period and, in particular, the lodge itself were an excellent choice, and we are already planning (at least) a repeat visit. In the order we met them, managers Trudy and Terry, Michelle and Ken, and owner Marcel are exceptional hosts who made us - and all guests - feel like we were visiting friends from the very first day. All our wishes regarding meals, social evenings with other guests, excursions, and even a haircut were gladly fulfilled. In addition to the warm, family-like atmosphere, we greatly appreciated the rest of the very friendly team, the excellent and plentiful food, the all-inclusive beverage concept, our three-room apartment, and the opportunity to see various wild animals (kudus, zebras, bushbucks, impalas, warthogs, vervet monkeys, genet, bushbabies, mongooses, baboons) right in front of our terrace - and in some cases even feed them by hand. The six full-day safaris in Kruger National Park were among the very best we have experienced in our now five safari holidays. On four days, we had already spotted the Big Five by mid-morning. These wonderful excursions were thanks especially to the legendary and equally passionate and inspiring guide Dirk, and the young and equally enthusiastic Adrian. Dirk even found cheetahs and wild dogs “on request,” allowing us to see the Magnificent Seven within just a few days. Further excursions took us along the Panorama Route and twice to Swaziland (the “Experience” and the “Rhino Walk,” which was a truly unique experience). Elize Hood accompanied and drove us in a very friendly, competent, and safe manner. All in all, there is only one thing to complain about: the holiday ended far too quickly. “A home away from home”

Absolutely everything here was outstanding! The staff was so welcoming and made us feel like family members during the whole stay. Absolutely everything here was outstanding! The staff was so welcoming and made us feel like family members during the whole stay. Dinner was a highlight every single evening, always freshly cooked and tasty. We had two safari drives with Dirk, who didn't give up until we spotted every single animal we wanted to see. He took us on a family trip on father's day with his wife's sisters and their husbands and we felt like family throughout the day. During our stay we learned a lot about Marloth Park and Kruger and couldn't be happier to have chosen this lodge! Thanks again to Dirk, Michelle and Kent! It was brilliant! A home away from home.
