“Pleasant Resort Grounds, But Chalet Conditions Need Urgent Attention”

Check-in was unfortunately a frustrating start to our holiday. We stood in the queue for over 35 minutes waiting to check in, and the process felt far too slow and inefficient. The R1500 damage deposit also felt quite steep. The chalet itself was lovely in size, spacious, and conveniently located close to all amenities. However, the rooms are very outdated and in definite need of an upgrade. Our chalet was not cleaned properly on arrival, the floors were sticky, and the kitchen cupboards had a very strong musty/mouldy smell. Unfortunately, the mould smell seemed to spread through the chalet and made my children feel unwell during our stay, which was extremely concerning. It was also disappointing that in 2026 there is still no Wi-Fi in the rooms. The resort grounds themselves are beautiful, clean, scenic, and very well maintained. There are great facilities for families to enjoy. We especially enjoyed the heated pool, although it was consistently overcrowded and difficult to fully enjoy at times. The location is also excellent, with halal restaurants nearby, which was a big plus for our family. A positive touch was that the day before check-out, a representative from the resort came to ask how our stay had been and was open to receiving feedback. That was appreciated and showed care. Check-out, however, was again very slow and inefficient. One new rule requires guests to wash all dishes before check-out. This raises concerns, as there is no guarantee that previous guests cleaned items properly before the next family uses them. This policy may need to be reconsidered. Overall, this resort has great potential and offers a budget-friendly family getaway with lovely grounds and facilities. However, the chalet conditions, outdated rooms, lack of Wi-Fi, and inefficient service need attention. With some upgrades and better housekeeping, it could be a much better experience.
