We had a 1 night stay on our recent trip to South Africa. It was such a peaceful setting , we were disappointed that we were not staying longer. The accommodation was beautiful, the food was amazing. The staff were all very professional and very welcoming.

I stayed here for 2 nights over my birthday 11th to 12th Dec. Main reason for stay was to do the five shy meerkat safari which is only 4km down the road from De Zeekoe guest farm. We were shocked at how nice it was here upon arrival. The grounds and hotel building were stunning. Out back were the pool is has a great view into the distant mountains and great swimming pool to cool off in the Klein Karoo heat (in SA summer it can get into 40°’s) If you love wildlife this is the place to stay! You can see great bros wildlife during the day from your room balcony or around the pool. You can book various other activities, we did a night Safari drive with Uncle Devi 600 Rand each and lasted around 2 hours and got some great views of nocturnal wildlife to Genet, porcupine, Diuker and some night birds we used a spot light to search for glowing eyes highly worth it. Other activities you can do is star gazing etc, if your interested you can email the hotel and they give great recommendations nearby and will give you prices and links to book like we did for the meerkats as it’s 100% essential to book ahead of time. The room we had was very spacious and a lovely balcony to view the landscape and bird life and great bathroom. We love an outdoor shower but didn’t use it unfortunately. Breakfast we had was included and was standard with some continental style. The one thing I’d recommend if your staying here your obviously doing the garden route and if you want great tasting coffee drive to Klein Karoo market a few kilometers down the road with free parking it’s like a mall and go to Seattle coffee company as you won’t be getting good bean coffee. We loved our stay and would 100% consider this again in the future here, all the staff were super friendly and helpful. Thanks for having us and creating lifetime memories we will never forget!

We had a pleasant stay at De Zeekoe Guest House, nestled on a quiet and scenic farm just outside Oudtshoorn. The location is peaceful, with lovely views and a real sense of calm. The pool area is a highlight with lush green surroundings, plenty of loungers and towels, and a small but refreshing pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious with a comfortable bed. We also appreciated the free bikes, although they are a bit dated. A big plus was how helpful the team was in arranging local excursions they assisted us with bookings for the Cango Caves and the ostrich farm, which made planning easy and stress-free. A few points to note: dinner is only served between 6pm and 7:30pm and food had to be ordered before 5pm, which felt a bit restrictive. Breakfast was basic, with no fresh coffee and some items like honey and jam running out. In our room, the extractor fan grill needed cleaning, and unfortunately, we had no hot water for a morning shower. Overall, a nice setting and warm service, with a few small areas for improvement.
