“Comfortable Stay”

Check in was fast and room was under my wife's name. We stayed there 8 nights from 1-9th Nov 2015. However, we were initially given a small room 701, with cigarette smell. I requested for a room change as I am asthmatic, and we were lucky to be given a much bigger room 710. Room was clean and the bed is comfortable. We didn't find the bed to be too hard...it was just nice. We asked for extra pillows and given with no extra charges. I love the shower water pressure and the different shower head configurations. They supplied full toiletry items, including hair spray, hair gel and hair mousse. Love the flat screen TV with lots of channels with some English channels. Wifi is free and good speed. Breakfast was simple but enough, with Korean spread of rice, soup, seaweed, kimchi and 2 other side dishes; Western spread of bread with butter and jam, cereals, scrambled eggs, fries; and orange juice, coffee and tea. Breakfast time is from 7.30am-9.30am. Although communication was a bit of a challenge as the front desk officers have limited grasp of English, Google Translate and body language helped. They tried their best to assist us in any way they could. It also doesn't hurt to know simple Korean words as this will also help us a long way. As it is, we are in their country. Location of the hotel is near subway Sangmu station and immediately behind Ramada Plaza Hotel. Lotte Mart is a 5 minutes walk where you can find groceries and do some shopping. However, there are lots of Korean eateries, bakeries and similar 7 Eleven shops surrounding the hotel. Kimdaejung Convention Center is 30 minutes walk or around 3000 Won by taxi ride. If we ever come to Gwangju again, yes we will stay here again.

“A good base to explore Gwangju”

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel whilst exploring Gwanju and it acted as a very good base. The location is 5 minutes walk from Sangmu subway station and there are always taxis around as it's right next to the Ramada. The room was clean and very spacious. We stayed 3 nights at this hotel whilst exploring Gwanju and it acted as a very good base. The location is 5 minutes walk from Sangmu subway station and there are always taxis around as it's right next to the Ramada. The room was clean and very spacious. The shower was excellent and there is a Jacuzzi bath provided too. The bed was comfy and the hotel was silent at night which was great. The staff weren't overly helpful when we checked in but spoke a good level of English - all they did was give us our key and didn't give us information about breakfast or facilities at our disposal. We didn't get to have breakfast as it ended at 9.30am which was a a bit inconvenient for us. Apart from that I think this hotel is very good value for money compared to most hotels in Gwangju and I would stay again.
