We stayed in a family room with 1 king bed and 1 double bed. The room is spacious. We had 4 large luggages and there was still enough space for that and 3 people. For the location, price performance and value, this hotel really delivers. Its located inside a very local alley way - which we were worried about a little BUT it added to the charm. There is a CU just a few steps infront with an array of local eateries, cafe, restaurants where locals eat to choose from. You wont see many tourists here as its filled with local SME stores, hardware shops etc. Close to the subway station and most touristic landmarks and shopping areas are reachable on foot. Some things to note. The hotel will charge you money if you loose your key card. Also, you need to let the front desk know 24hrs in advance if you want your room cleaned - and they advise you to lock up your valuables and close your luggages prior. They do leave you a bag every day filled with fresh towels and drinking water by the door. There is a laundrette for free inside with a coffee machine and microwave. There is a kettle and fridge inside the room. Beds were comfortable. The rooms felt like it used to be offices or real apartment flats prior to this becoming a hotel. If you plan to spend most of your time outside, but also want a spacious and clean room with good local restaurants nearby, this place hits the spot.

Since we enjoyed our stay at Hotel Rian back in 2018 we decided to return here for our recent four night stay as we love the Jongno neighbourhood. Very little has changed since then apart from breakfast not being offered, instead there are two microwaves in the building for guests to use which we found valuable. Our corner room was compact with large bed, chair, table, storage space and a wetroom bathroom. The bed and pillows were comfortable, we could not sleep with the windows open due to the constant motor sound in the neighbourhood, fortunately the room was cool enough as the quilt was too warm. Daily room cleaning was excellent. The hotel tariff was well priced. The hotel is well located within easy walking distance to the metro, Cheonggyecheon Stream, attractions/cafes/restaurants/convenience stores. A good stay.

Comfortable hotel in the center, very close to Gyeongbokgung Palace, Gwanghwamun Square, Jongmyo Shrine and many other cultural landmarks, shops and restaurants. A good base to explore the city. Room was big and comfortable and the wifi was good. My flight was quite late in the night so I was able to leave my luggage at the hotel after check-out so I could explore more of the city and came back later to pick up my things and head home.

Stayed here with daughter who was attending a Kpop concert. I was a bit worried when I looked at photos of the hotels location before we left UK. It’s surrounded by narrow alley-ways and next to a construction site. Back in the UK I doubt I would dare walk down streets like that, especially late at night. However in Korea there is nothing to worry about. Felt safe at all times. Didn’t hear any noise from the site next door in the week we stayed there. Room quite basic but comfortable. I found my twin bed very comfortable and there was spare pillows in wardrobe. Air conditioning was good and controlled by remote control. Bathroom was basically a wet room with an all-singing,all-dancing toilet with bidet,etc. Couldn’t get notebook provided to work but didn’t need it anyway, so not a problem. Staff very courteous and helpful. Some spoke better English than others but didn’t encounter any problems. Hotel very clean in all areas. Few criticisms. Would have liked a bigger wardrobe but have read all rooms tend to be small in Korean hotels and these are apparently bigger than most. An armchair would have been nice but again limited space I suppose. Got a bit fed up of sitting on the bed. A squeegee-type mop would be useful in bathroom after showers to disperse water down drain. Turned into a bit of a swamp after 2 people showering and took hours to dry. Water was walked in to bedroom after visiting loo. Dining room only provided breakfast. Bigger range of meals would be nice. Location is ideal for visitors. Two minute walk up alley to main street in Jongno -gu and brings you out about 200 yards from entrance to Jongno 3(Sam)ga subway station. Lots of eating places in the area including Korean and Western fast food restaurants
